1001 Dark Nights: The Prince (Wicked Trilogy 3.5) By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey y'all! 👋👋👋
I'm so excited to get to share my review of THE PRINCE, a new novella from Jennifer L. Armentrout's awesome Wicked Trilogy. Available August 14th!!!
I need to give a huge thank you to Jen and the amazing team over at Inkslinger PR for getting this ARC sent out for review. And for how great you treat us bloggers.Y'all are the best 😘😘

Plus let me just tell you. Jen is one of my favorite authors. And any time I get the opportunity to read one of her books, I jump on it. They are so good.
I've gotten to meet Jen a few times now, and she is such a fun person to talk to.

(Apollycon 2017)

And if you haven't read her Wicked Trilogy yet, I can't suggest a more fun set of books.
They have all the amazing paranormal-ness of a YA but are set in a much more romancey NA/adult feel. And freaking stellar!!!

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes a new story in her Wicked series…

She’s everything he wants….

Cold. Heartless. Deadly. Whispers of his name alone bring fear to fae and mortals alike. The Prince. There is nothing in the mortal world more dangerous than him. Haunted by a past he couldn’t control, all Caden desires is revenge against those who’d wronged him, trapping him in never-ending nightmare. And there is one person he knows can help him.

She’s everything he can’t have…

Raised within the Order, Brighton Jussier knows just how dangerous the Prince is, reformed or not. She’d seen firsthand what atrocities he could be capable of. The last thing she wants to do is help him, but he leaves her little choice. Forced to work alongside him, she begins to see the man under the bitter ice. Yearning for him feels like the definition of insanity, but there’s no denying the heat in his touch and the wicked promise is his stare.

She’s everything he’ll take….

But there’s someone out there who wants to return the Prince to his former self. A walking, breathing nightmare that is hell bent on destroying the world and everyone close to him. The last thing either of them needs is a distraction, but with the attraction growing between them each now, the one thing he wants more than anything may be the one thing that will be his undoing.

She’s everything he’d die for….

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Oh.my.goodness!!!!

I have no words. Like none haha.

I need more right this minute. Like right now haha

I was so up for a fun little story set in Jens Wicked world. But I didn't realize just how far this book would suck me in. I liked Brighton well enough through the series. But she was always a little uptight and too serious for me. And then we get this book. And now I see her in such a completely new way. And I really like that. She's not quite on Ivy's level of bada** but Brighton has her own brand of it though this book. And I really loved this new reckless vengeful side to her.

Plus how can you not love the Prince? He is one swoony Fay. And he's such a broody mystery still.
There's so much to him we don't know about since the end of the last Wicked book. But the more we learn the more I really like the guy. He's sweet and protective. And did I say swoony? Haha.

I just really enjoyed this book though. Its obviously a short one. But so much happens in it. And Jen did an amazing job of the transition between characters. And still giving us some familiar faces.

Especially everyone's favorite Brownie *cheers loudly*

Because it cant be a Wicked series book without Tink.

And hes back in all of his magnificently hilarious glory. Still giving us some much needed comic relief while also being quite sweet and insightful.
Hes one of my favorite secondary characters Jen has ever written. And I love it that she found a way to really include him in the book too.

Overall. This book had running through so many different emotions. And I couldn't help but pull an almost all nighter trying to finish this baby up. Its seriously one of those you will not want to put down. And then possibly throw across the room when you finish from the extra ragy rage at the ending haha (just in case you were worried. No kindles died in the making of this review 😂😂😂 )

But I can't make it clear enough how much ya'll need to go pick up a copy of this one once it releases. It's the best start to the new fall reading season for sure 😉😉

I give THE PRINCE

Brave (Wicked #3) By: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey ya'll 👋👋👋
I'm so excited to get to share my review of BRAVE, the 3rd book in Jen's Wicked trilogy.
I need to give a huge thanks to Jen and her amazing team fro getting the ARC to this beauty sent out. I can't thank ya'll enough for all that you do.

Jen is one of my favorite authors, like one of those authors you don't even need to read the book description to anything she writes anymore. Because you just know you'll love whatever it is she's putting out there. And I mean that. I've read almost all her books, and those range from fun paranormal romance YA, to steamy adult romance suspense's, and everything in between.
I've gotten to meet Jen several times over the years too, and let me just tell you. She is an awesome person to get to take a minute and talk with. She's one of the most personable authors I've met. And her and the guys that are on some of the covers of her books are the best. I've seen them all going out of their way to make sure reader's books get signed. Even when that meant sitting at a table all day with a line a few hundred people deep signing books for everyone. And even going into time after a signing was finished, to make sure no one gets left out (Hello Apollycon lines haha)

But seriously ya'll. She's just an amazing writer and person, and you will adore her books

Ivy Morgan hasn't been feeling like herself lately. Not like anyone can blame her. After all, being held captive by a psychotic fae prince hell-bent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld is bound to leave some mental scars.

It’s more than that, though. Something dark and insidious is spreading throughout Ivy, more powerful than she could ever imagine... and it’s coming between her and the man she’s fallen deeply in love with, elite Order member Ren Owens.

Ren would do anything to keep Ivy safe. Anything. But when he makes a life altering choice for her, the fallout of his act has far reaching consequences that threaten to tear their lives apart.

If Ivy is going to have any hope of surviving this, she must put aside the hurt and betrayal she feels, and work with not only those she loves, but with an enemy she would rather kill than ever trust. War is coming, and it soon becomes clear that what Ivy and Ren thought they knew about the Order, themselves, and even their enemies, has been nothing but a cluster of dangerous, deadly lies.

Ivy knows she must be more than just brave to save those she loves--and, ultimately, to save herself.

Because behind every evil fae Prince, there’s a Queen….

I honestly don't even know where to start with this book. I've been waiting a year to finally see how this awesome series was going to end... And let's just say Jen did not disappoint in the least.

We got the whole Wicked crew back for this one plus some fun new faces. And just as much butt kicking and excitement as the previous two books.

At the end of TORN we were left wondering what was going to happen to our fae fighting crew as their world flipped upside down and familiar faces betrayed them. And BRAVE picks right back up there.

But something that this book played with a lot in my opinion is self identity.
We learn a lot about Ivy, and a few of the characters actually in this book. And I liked the way Jen toyed with them struggling to find where exactly they fit in this new world of theirs and what that meant for their future. We see especially Ivy dealing with this the most. She struggles hard accepting parts of who she is. And while that did get annoying at times, I think it was good to show that even the strongest people struggle sometimes. But they can overcome those struggles and become someone they want to be. Maybe just not the way they thought they would.

And speaking of Ivy, let's delve a little deeper into her character for a minute.
I think Jen gave us the most vulnerable Ivy in this book. For once she's unsure of who she is or what she's doing. She's been given information in the previous books that flip her world for her, and in turn make her question a lot about not only herself. But if what she's doing as a hunter is the right thing. She sees there's more gray in the world she assumed was just black and white.
I don't want to give anything away if you haven't read the other books in the series yet. So if I seem like I'm being a bit vague, that's why.
But while Ivy is going through all this re-self discovery (If that's not a word it is now haha) we still see her as this amazing fighter, willing to defend her friends and loved ones even if it kills her.
It takes some time to get that side of Ivy back out, but it's there. We also for the first time, get to see the scared vulnerable side to her. And I think that adds some dimension to her character. Even if it was kinda infuriating at times. Because believe me. There were a few times I just wanted to reach in and strangle that girl haha.

But really, I think we saw the most growth from her in this book (in more ways than you think)
And that was something I really enjoyed. Plus seeing her go all fae hunter on those wicked ones was pretty awesome too hehe.

So let's move on to Ren real fast
😻😻😻

This man*Swoon
I freaking floved Ren so much in this book. He's always been a sweetheart. And fierce and loyal to a fault when it comes to the people he cares about and his duty as an Order member.
But we see that even more so in this book. Ren literally would risk his life for Ivy if it meant keeping her safe instead, and man... Where can I find someone as dedicated as that? I can't even get a guy to hold a door open when I walk into a store HA!
But seriously, he is just such an adorable character. You know, for someone who kills mythical beings for a living haha.
And I seriously respect the level of love and affection he has for Ivy, even when she pushes him away. He's just one of those characters that refuses to give up. And you just wanna hug him when his heart gets bruised and battered.
Plus we get to see bad a** Ren again. That boy can kick some BUTT!! Plus he's got just enough sarcasm, especially when Tink is involved to keep me snorting.

And speaking of the little Brownie.
freaking Tink was the MVP of this book. Oh-em-gee!
I loved that little... err... big? dude in this book.
He''s always been one of my favorite characters Jen's created (Because we all know her side characters are the freaking bomb)
Tink is sarcastic, snappy, a bit crazy, and funny as heck with his Amazon obsession.
And ya'll!! His interaction with a new character to the series had me rolling. Tink was pretty funny with them, and this new character I speak of was pretty awesome in general themselves.
You'll just have to read this one to find out who I'm talking about. Because you'll definitely know as soon as you meet them hehe.

And oh man.... We finally find out the secret of the troll dolls!!!!

I think it was the most bizarre and funny thing I've ever read. So If you're wanting some hilarity and just plain what the heckery. Be sure to grab this book and read all the way to the end. It's so beyond worth it.
I literally had to set my kindle down for a minute and compose myself after so I could keep reading haha.

Overall. This book was just great. It had so much going on in it. And left you on the edge, flipping pages as fast as you could so you could see how it was all going to end. It had a little of everything. The romance, the hilarity, the action, the Tink...

And while I think WICKED is still my favorite book in the series. I really enjoyed this one at a close second.
It wrapped things up so nicely, but still left you wondering about some things concerning other characters*Wink Wink.

I can tell you without a doubt, I would read this book and the whole series over and over again though. And I'm sure I will here soon. I can't stay away from the beautiful world Jen set in NOLA.
She gives such gorgeous descriptions of the area and has me itching to go finally see it for myself (even if I don't get hot Order members and Brownies like Ivy does haha)

And let me just touch on world building in general here for a sec. Something Jen does an amazing job with, is that. She creates these fantastical creatures and characters and sets them in places so well, that I would expect to see a fae in New Orleans, or an alien walking down the strip in Las Vegas.
She has this way of just transporting you to the setting of her books. And she does that every time in this series. Especially in this book, where we get a little more fae magic working it's way in the city.
And I love a book and author that can do that for me. I love that when I put the book down, I feel like I could have been watching a movie instead of reading. That an author was able to describe things so well and so fully, that I could fall away from the real world for a bit and fall so wholly into their story.

So just in case you didn't pick up on it. I really did love BRAVE.
And I give it without a doubt...

Dreamfall (Dreamfall #1): Amy plum

Hey y'all! 👋👋👋
So I know I've been essentially MIA these past few months. Summer is always a slow time in the book world in general, and for me it's even slower because I take time with my family and do the whole vacation thing.
But I'm also still just really struggling with blogging and reading in general, and that's caused a huge gap in getting new posts and content up.
My life is still a ridiculous mess most of the time... As I juggle work, school, and still caring and supporting my mom while she's still recovering from the brain tumor and multiple surgeries this past year.
But I promise I'm going to start trying really hard to be more involved with everyone and get myself back into this awesomely bookish world.
So with that all said, why don't we jump into the review of this crazy book?!

Cata Cordova suffers from such debilitating insomnia that she agreed to take part in an experimental new procedure. She thought things couldn’t get any worse...but she was terribly wrong.

Soon after the experiment begins, there’s a malfunction with the lab equipment, and Cata and six other teen patients are plunged into a shared dreamworld with no memory of how they got there. Even worse, they come to the chilling realization that they are trapped in a place where their worst nightmares have come to life. Hunted by creatures from their darkest imaginations and tormented by secrets they’d rather keep buried, Cata and the others will be forced to band together to face their biggest fears. And if they can’t find a way to defeat their dreams, they will never wake up.

Holy heck y'all!!!

I can't even comprehend what exactly this book did to me yet haha.

Like this book took so many crazy twists and turns, and had me on the edge my seat.... well, bed the entire time.

Let me just explain it all real fast.

So.... I pre-ordered this book back before it came out. It was delivered on release day..... And then what do I do? I sit on it forever and a day. So anyways. I've been having an awful time getting Into any books. I finally found a couple here and there. A sci-fi, or a fantasy. But even some of the ones everyone's been talking about and into, I just can't seem to get to hold my attention.
I've read 2 books. And started and stopped about 6 this past month. It's been brutal. And I've been kinda antsy finding something that does it for me (and it's not like these books I try are boring either. I just can't get myself to enjoy them)

So back to this book. I finally decided last night that I'm still in a fantasy mood (particularly YA)
So I'm looking through my shelves and piles of books. And nothing is catching or pulling at my attention.
And I just happen to spot Dreamfall. I can't remember at all what the book's about. But I love Amy Plum, which drove me to pre-order the book to begin with.
So I head off to bed (I'm an insufferable insomniac. So the start of bed time for me is around 1 or 2 am. 1 in this case.)
Ironic I know, considering what this book is about (It was not lost on me y'all. Not one bit har har)

And for once, I start this book and immediately it catches my interest. So fast forward 4 hours. And it's 5 am now.... blurry eyed, about to pass out where I'm sitting up in bed, I turn to the last page and HOLY FREAKING JESUS ON A FREAKING CRACKER!!!!!

Like my mind is so completely blown and I have no words, and I'm trying to be as quite in my freaking out as I can, so I don't wake everyone plus my cats up in the house. But I'm silently rocking, mouth open, staring down at this mind bomb of a book.... And trying to figure out if I missed something somehow, because there is no possible way that was the actual end to the book. Like there's got to be a epilogue to the epilogue..... And scouring the internet to find out if this book is going to be a series, because I cannot deal with that ending at all haha. (FYI I believe I figured out that this book is going to be a duology)

But let me just say. As crazy that all wound up being..... I loved the book from start to horribly fantastic cliffy end haha

This book took me on such a roller coaster and I loved it so so much.

It's one of those books that leaves you guessing, and just when you get it all figured out.... BOOM!! Something changes, and you're left speculating all over again.

But that was the fun part of the book. Never knowing who or what was going to be the bad guy. Or what was real and what was not.

I also loved how Amy split this book into the 3 POV's. I always get a little worried when there's more than 2. Books can get messy and confusing when you try to show too many angles.
But in this case, it added so much more depth and understanding to the story.
The characters grew on me so fast, and I found myself rooting for all of them, and crushed by particular developments concerning a few of them too.
But guy! Guys! I had something about the characters pegged so well. And OMG I almost freaked out when I found out I was right.
Like you Go Amy Plum! Giving us such unique and interesting characters.

This book was a terrifying, and even at times a freaky read. And exactly what I needed in my time of bookish need.

Plus it gave me a chance to stretch out all those book mojo powers of mine and take a crack at the mystery. And let me tell you. I was spot on a few times. And other times I was just barely brushing on being on the right track. while a few I was completely not expecting.

This book had great in-depth characters that you start to feel and fall for so whole heatedly. And can't wait to see what will come of them.
While also offering a very colorful and expanded world. That could only come up in our most twisted haunting nightmares.

Thanks for some of those BTW Amy. I totally appreciated them at 3 am haha.

But I can't tell you all how much you need to go pick up a copy of this book. It was totally stunning. And if anyone knows.... I've got to know if there will be more!!!

Without a shadow of a doubt...

I give DREAMFALL
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5 STARS⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

POST EDIT!!!!!
This book IS part of a duology, and the 2nd book is called Neverwake!!

Be sure to grab a copy today (Links below)  :D

After thwarting a deadly coup and saving the alliance between their worlds, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned a break. Their tiny island colony is everything they dreamed it would be―days spent gathering shells on the beach and nights in each other’s arms.

But the vacation is short-lived.

The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing humans and L’eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.

With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever―not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

Torn (Wicked Trilogy #2) By: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey ya'll *Waves
I'm so happy to get to share my review of Torn with you today.
I absolutely FLOVE the Wicked Trilogy so far, and was so so excited to get an ARC of Torn.
Jen writes such amazing books and I couldn't wait to dive back into the Wicked world with Ivy, Ren and especially Tink ;)

I need to also send a huge thank you to Inkslinger PR for sending this wonderful ARC to me. KP and the whole team there are so amazing, and I can't think them enough for all they do for us bloggers :D

Torn between duty and survival, nothing can be the same.

Everything Ivy Morgan thought she knew has been turned on its head. After being betrayed and then nearly killed by the Prince of the Fae, she’s left bruised and devastated—and with an earth-shattering secret that she must keep at all costs. And if the Order finds out her secret, they’ll kill her.

Then there’s Ren Owens, the sexy, tattooed Elite member of the Order who has been sharing Ivy’s bed and claiming her heart. Their chemistry is smoking hot, but Ivy knows that Ren has always valued his duty to the Order above all else—he could never touch her if he knew the truth. That is, if he let her live at all. Yet how can she live with herself if she lies to him?

But as the Fae Prince begins to close in, intent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld, Ivy is running out of options. If she doesn’t figure out who she can trust—and fast—it’s not only her heart that will be torn apart, but civilization itself.

OMG ya'll... This book! So so so much love for this book. It filled in all those Wicked shaped holes in my chest so perfectly haha.
Over a year, I've waited for this book to be here, and it finally is!!!
And it was great. I got all my favorite characters i had been dying for, and got so much more to a story that while didn't leave me hanging... left me hanging (does that make sense?)

i have such a fun history with this series and couldn't be more excited to see how this one played out.
And Jen did not disappoint one bit. The only thing I could possibly complain about was that book three didn't start the minute Torn ended hehe!

Ok so to give you a little back story on how my love for this series came about...

So when Wicked came out last year I sort of missed the memo that it was being published Indi. And thus started an all day trip going from bookstore to bookstore searching for this dang book. Seriously I went to 2 different BAM's and about every other place I knew sold Jen's books in the past... And NONE of them could even pull it up in they're systems except for the audio book. Thinking I had the release date wrong somehow I checked Amazon and of course, they had both the Ebook and paperback. So I, being the weirdo that I am 1-clicked the Ebook and then Amazon Primed my paperback version. Actually this book was the first thing I ordered with my prime account and started my addiction into all things two day shipped and my dwindling pay checks haha!
Well after I finally got the thing ordered though I started pawing through Facebook... Of seriously right there on a bunch of the posts is all the buy links, and duh! It's INDI published blah blah blah. Yeah I felt like a total dork

But anyways... So it took me like a day and a half to finish Wicked and I loved it! But waiting over a year to find out what was gonna happen was killer. I mean I literally was dying to get back into that world. And as much as I love all of Jen's books, Wicked was by far one of my top favorites behind the Lux books, and I was quite impatiently waiting... and waiting hehe

When I got the email from Inkslinger asking asking if I would like to be considered for an ARC, I jumped on the chance. Anything to get me some more Tink. And Torn really acted as a great distraction from life right now.

Back at the end of February beginning of March we found out my mom had a pretty sizable tumor on the pituitary gland in her brain, and that it was causing a pretty severe case of hydrocephalus causing her to have have problems walking (That we originally thought was from a fall months before) (She also got so bad she eventually had to be in a wheelchair to get anywhere) and pretty severe memory loss that we had originally thought was possible early onset Alzheimer's or Dementia.
To give you an idea of what was going on. I just turned 23 this past June. I'm a nanny to 2 kids while I finish up a degree in biology while trying to get into a good Physical Therapy program after.
I would be in class till almost 12 or 1 in the afternoon and then be at work from 3-8 at night. Come home, cook, clean, and do homework or study. It left very little time for anything else and my mom was almost 100% dependent on me. I stopped working out, I stopped hanging out with people, I stopped blogging even. I was under an extreme amount of stress, and it effected a lot of my life.

And while my mom has gotten a lot better after the original surgery...She goes back in this Thursday for a 2nd one to remove the rest of the tumor. And while the first surgery was risky, the doctor went in through her nasal cavity which made for a less invasive surgery. But this time they will have to do a full go through the head surgery. So to say that things have been a little stressful again would be an understatement.
So getting lost in a good book for a little while was something I needed.

And man was Torn good.
It picked right up where Wicked left off and I found myself falling right back into that world so easily.

So much was going on in this book. At the end of Wicked so many things for Ivy had changed and we get a good amount of those things explained much more this book.

I found myself trying to guess what was going happening in this one more than I do in most books, and that's saying something because I am one of those annoying readers who will guess up a storm on what will happen. I'm sure you've heard me go on and on before about my"book mojo" and that's just the term my friends and I have come to call my weird way of usually guessing what's gonna happen in a book. Well this book seriously had me guessing so much. And i'm kinda proud to say that I guessed almost all the things in this book!!!!! And I had no one to even bounce my ideas off of (the sad life of a blogger with an ARC sometimes... NO ONE has read it but you in your book friend circle)
But I really like books that keep me guessing like that. They make it fun to read and then when it comes to a part that you had been speculating about and you find out if you were right or wrong it's fun.At least to me. But I'm a total sucker for guessing games of sorts in general. (Yes, I am also that person who shakes her Christmas presents to see if I can figure out what they are)

I also really liked how Jen continued to develop the characters in this book, while also some adding some new faces to the mix. And man did she up the Tink-ness! I absolutely love that little guy so much, and he brought just as much humor and even seriousness at times to this book if not more than Wicked. All his antics add those needed moments for Ivy to just take a brake from the craziness, and be able to bounce everything happening off someone who knows a little of the inside info on the Fae world.
Plus his relationship with Ren offers quite the comedic side to the book.

Something else about this book that I really liked. And you may think I'm crazy for saying it... Is how mad I would get. I mean there were parts of this book where I wanted to just reach in and strangle a few characters. Or throw my Kindle across the room. Both sounded like solid plans at a few points haha.
And the reason why I say I like that the book had moments like this for me, is because it means the writer has put a lot of emotion in it. When you make me feel mad for a character or something similar for the story in general, it means that that author has created such a detailed multi dimensional story that I feel like I'm being sucked right into it.
Jen does this with pretty much every book I've read from her. And her way of creating such amazingly detailed paranormal words just astounds me.

Like tonight while I was writing my review my niece, mom, and I were watching The Fifth Wave. And while I've read the book and loved the movie, all I could think about was Daemon, and the Lux series. (I mean who wouldn't when watching hot alien movies hehe)
Her books are just written in ways that really draw the reader in, and while they are books with these paranormal creatures like the Fae. They are so well written and so realistic, that I feel like if I were to go to New Orleans I should be watching my back for an evil Fae to come and try to feed on me or something. She ties fantasy and reality together to make this perfect mesh of everything good in a great read.

Plus the romance in this one is H.O.T.T.
I'm already a huge fan of Ren and Ivy. And Jen did not disappoint on all the warm fuzzies.
She always writes the super sexy scenes with still keeping the books from turning into overtly romantic books. Don't get me wrong. I love a good bow chicka wow wow time. But with these paranormal NA books, I also want all the action and well paranormalness (If that isn't a word it sure as heck is now) and Jen gives us tones in Torn. Between the Fae problem growing to epic proportions and some pretty interesting new stuff with Tink we get a good dose of it all.

And don't even get me started on the level of epic creepiness the bad guy in this one has. Talk about a good bad guy. The Fae prince doesn't quite have that same level of "bad" that some of Jen's other baddies have had in the past. (Probably used the word BAD way to much right there) But this one makes up for it in his sheer level of uber creep.
He kinda made my skin crawl a coupe times. Especially during one part where I was guessing what was going on, and just wanted to scream it out like Ivy might actually hear me and believe me or something. (Yeah I know. I'm weird)
but anyways he's a total creepy creep. And I give Jen some serious props for writing such a character.

And speaking of characters... Guess I should really get into talking about Ren and Ivy. Maybe even just a little more of everyone's favorite Brownie too ;)

So let's start with Ivy.
She is so fierce and awesome. I mean I can only wish I was as bad-A as that girl is.
She knows how to fight. She can throw a wooden steak like a pro. She loyal to a fault. She has the most awesome red hair, even if she thinks it's a pain. And shes super beautiful.
Ivy is put into an extremely difficult place in this book though. And is faced with some hard decisions to make, that effect her along with the entire world. (No pressure!)
decisions that she kinda has to make on her own. Because if anyone else knew about them they could get her killed.

Something else I really liked was how committed to her duty as an Order member Ivy was. Even after the Fae prince kicked her butt ten ways to Friday, she still jumps right back into things and does what she can to continue keeping everyone safe. And on top of all that she tries going to college classes and living a semi normal life the best way she can. Juggling that much stuff takes skills (And while she doesn't necessarily achieve it all, she still tries)

Ivy get's thrown some serious curve balls in this one and I like that while she keeps pushing through everything you get to see that she is human and that things do still effect her. No matter how hard she wants to, she can't do it all alone. And her putting her trust in others hands is a big step she makes in this book.

Also when Ivy sort of hits rock bottom essentially. She realizes it and knows she has to overcome it. She knows it will take work. And that the road ahead won't be easy. But she accepts it and relies on the people she cares about to get through it by her side.

And one of those people at her side is my honey Ren.
The tattooed cutie with the adorable floppy hair, and some serious ninja skills.
He's back and just as hot as ever. And his feelings for Ivy are real upfront and present almost the entire book.

Poor Ren really went through some difficult things growing up, and as we learn more about him the more we feel for him.But also love him as well.

He's just one of those characters that you just fall for quickly. He's kinda a smart a**, and has these amazing dimples that appear. And a smirk! I love a fictional guy with a smirk and dimples (Heck, I love a real guy with those too haha)

And much like Ivy, Ren is incredibly fierce and loyal to not only the Elite but to the people in his life he cares about. He's been trained to be good at what he does, and he uses that to his advantage when needed.

But Ren is also this insanely soft soul who, when he finds someone he cares for, puts everything into it. He's so gentle and loving towards Ivy. Even when she comes to him with some crazy crazy things. And his compassion for people is something I really liked. For such a harsh Job he's given he still manages to retain his humanity.

But Ren is seriously pushed in this book. I just wanted to wrap the big guy up in hug.
He lets so much just slide off his shoulders, but Ivy really does drop a mother load of stuff on him,and we see that thick outer shell of his sort of crack a few times.

He makes mistakes, but still tries his hardest to make it all right in the end.

And for someone who's duty is usually put before anything else. He realizes just how important other things in his life can be. And that not everything he was taught was right, may not necessarily be. That there are shades of grey between all the black and white.

Also his relationship or hate-relationship with Tink in this book was AH-MAZ-ING.
I laughed so hard a few times at the banter between him and the tiny brownie. Both care so much for Ivy and just want what is best for her. And both whip snarky quite hilarious barbs at the other just for the fun of it.

there is some major Tink-ness going down in this book, and one part in particular (you'll know it when you read it) had me about in tears laughing so hard.

But something else about Ren and Tink is that we get to see a side to them that isn't all sarcasm and snark. They figure out that they can actually help each other even if they don't like it. And I'm totally calling BROMANCE! DEAD AHEAD!

Pretty much this book had everything Wicked started and more. It explained so much more to this story while infuriatingly leaving us hanging on a few things. But hey the ending didn't make me want to go all rage-y because I was left on the precipice of a pointy cliff. It did leave me wanting even more though, and already counting days until summer of next year.

I can't tell ya'll how much I really loved this book. I know this review was a bit tame for me. But this book was absolutely an awesome one. And is still by far one of my favorite series Jen has written.

I over the story line, the creepy bad guy, the characters in general, and the most adorable supporting brownie a book could ever have.

I can't wait to see how it all is going to end in Brave (And can I ask? I know at the end of the book Jen sets up the reasoning behind book 3's title... But is there also maybe something there to do with Ren's whole reference to Merida from the Disney movie Brave? Because that would be really cute)

I without a doubt give TORN
