Hey ya'll Gennifer Albin author of the Crewel World Series has a new book out. Book number two in her Good Girls Don't series. Be sure to check it and the first book Catching Liam out today.

TEACHING ROMAN by Gennifer Albin

June 2014

BOOK SUMMARY:
Jessica Stone has her life in perfect order until her perfectly boring boyfriend Brett puts things in perspective. So when she receives a call to action from her heartbroken best friend Cassie, she ditches her plans for Winter Break in gloomy Olympic Falls and sets off to Mexico for some fun in the sun.

Determined to use her oceanview to prep for her MCATS, she doesn't plan to run into anyone from Olympic State, least of all the cute communications prof she's been crushing on for a year. When he unexpectedly saves the day, the two are thrown together in a distinctly extracurricular activity.

Roman Markson doesn’t expect to run into anyone he knows from Olympic Falls while visiting his family in Puerto Vallarta, especially not a former student. Although Jess Stone has a way of catching men’s attention, a relationship with her is strictly off-limits. However, the rules feel less strict in Mexico, so they agree to a plan: one week in paradise and nothing more.

But avoiding each other back on campus is harder than they anticipated, especially when they can’t stay away from one another. Neither is sure what they have to learn—and lose—before life teaches them a lesson they’ll never forget.

Excerpt:
“What I want is for you to want me like I want you!”
I clamp a hand to my mouth. Regret slaps me in the face.
Javier pulls my hand away. His stare takes in all of me. My eyes. My lips. I’m embarrassed by what I said. I’m embarrassed by my ridiculous heart, which thumps loudly, echoing his every touch.
“You want me, mami?”
Yes. In the deepest parts of my bones, yes.
Silence.
“Answer me.” His voice is demanding.
“No,” I say, stubborn.
A grin crawls across his face.
“I owe you an apology,” he says. “I couldn’t talk to you earlier. Wanted to. But I couldn’t. You understand?”
“Not at all.”
Javier’s warmth reminds me of the water. Of wanting to jump in. I’d do anything to cool off.
“If I explain it to you, will you remember in the morning?”

“Probably not,” I answer honestly. “But then again, you’re hard to forget.”

Of Neptune By: Anna Banks (Syrena Legacy #3)

So I know this book has been out for a little while now but I have been dying to get a review up for it since the day it came out. But as you know not all plans go as well... planned. So here I am now finally getting it up and posted.

This is the last book in the Syrena Legacy series and as much as I was looking forward to it I have to say it was not my favorite of the three books, but that in no way means that the book was not a great read, and I recommend to everyone to go out and read it.

Overview:
Emma, who is half human and half Syrena, and her Syrena love Galen, need time together. Alone. Away from the kingdoms of Poseidon and Triton. Emma’s grandfather, the Poseidon king, suggests the two visit a small town called Neptune.
Neptune is home to both Syrena and Half Breeds alike. But Emma and Galen didn't sign up to be peacemakers between the ocean and land-dwelling, freshwater Syrena. They didn't bargain for meeting a charming Half Breed named Reed, who can barely disguise his feelings for Emma. And they especially didn't expect to find themselves in the middle of a power struggle that threatens not only their love, but their ocean kingdoms.
In this stunning conclusion to her bestselling Syrena Legacy, Anna Banks thrills fans with more action and romance than ever. (From B&N)

First two books in the Syrena Legacy series:

Oh this book, and the things it makes me feel hehe. This was just one of the many series that was concluding this spring and like so many others I just HAD to have it the day it released. (I actually forgot the day it came out, even with the countdown clock on the blog, and my co-reviewer had to remind me) But I was at the book store and darn straight I got my book.
Before I originally started reading this series I was no fan of mermaid books. Vampires, ok. Banshees, sure. Aliens, hell to the yeah! but mermaids, ummmmm. But I went in with in open mind and was hooked like a worm. *Nudges with elbow*
Of Neptune is written in dull POV between Galen and Emma, and tracks the duo as they try to work out there relationship now that the Syrena world knows about her, a half breed, and that her once believed to be dead mother a Poseidon Princess is in fact alive and living on land. The two plan a trip away from the confusing world of Syrena where they can get to know one another better, but when the Poseidon king convinces Emma to make a detour in the little town of Neptune all "shell" breaks loose. (haha see what I did there.)

While the idea of the town of Neptune intrigued me being made of half breeds (half human half Syrena like Emma) but as the story progressed we saw less and less of Emma and Galen together and I felt it was such a step backwards in their relationship. For the past two books the two had worked so hard to be together and right when I thought it was finally all worked out and I would have a whole book of pure fishy happiness, BOOM!! nope, not gonna happen. But don't worry ya'll it all works out, what author doesn't make sure there is a good ending to a series after all. Plus a good thing to this book... We get to meet an awesome new character. He is by far no Galen but I must say I like spunky Reed. He adds just enough drama to the book to always keep you on your toes on what side everyone in Neptune is on. And who doesn't like a little competition to make a guy express his undying love to his main half breed merwoman. Just as long as said spunky Reed doesn't interfere too much. The book is beautifully written and the introduction of new characters really allowed for the story to expand and explain some pieces that weren't exactly answered in the first two books. Also the personal struggles of Emma and Galen give you a much better look into their characters, not in just their love for each other or loyalty to the sea kingdoms. But how they truly do complete on another and support each other through their hardest times. And let me just tell you, the ending to this book is seriously awesome. Were talking magical unicorn barf there hehe.

And let me just say I am gonna seriously miss Galen now that this series is done. He is just one of those characters that is such a sweetie and cares so much about everything in his life. He really struggles after some events that took place at the end of book two, and seeing him deal with them will break your heart but also make you fall more in love with him at the same time.

Please I encourage you to not only check out this book, but the whole series. The books are written beautifully and will leave you craving more of Emma and Galen as you go.

I give this book 5 stars

Book Blitz: Breaking Fences By: Juliana Haygert

Breaking Fences (The Breaking Series, #2)
Genre: NA contemporary romance
Word Count: ~80,000
Release date: June/2014
Cover by: Okay Creations

Summary from Goodreads:
All Beatriz “Bia” Fernandes wants is to prove herself—to her family and friends—though it’s hard to prove anything with an overbearing father and three famous polo-playing older brothers. After her acceptance into college results in a heated family argument, the Brazilian girl leaves everything behind to find her own American dream.

College life away from home is perfect until the people she believes to be her friends turn on her. With lies and rumors threatening to suffocate her, Bia turns to her only freedom. Riding.

But one thing gets in the way of her escape. Garrett Blackwell and his bad cowboy attitude. Working at the ranch is his obligation, bugging Bia is his newfound hobby. His thick skin and easy grin don’t hide what Bia already knows—this misunderstood and lonely cowboy fights his own demons. Brushing horses’ coats and mucking out stalls shouldn’t be this sexy, and it isn’t long before he becomes a part of her distraction.

However, escaping won’t solve her problems, and it’s up to Bia to break down the fences around her and prove her strength—not to her family and friends, but to herself … and for Garrett. Because standing on her own doesn’t have to mean standing alone.

  Breaking Fences – Excerpt:

“Time’s up,” Garrett shouted.
I pulled the reins and slowed Midnight, steering him toward the men.
I leaned over the horse and patted his neck. “Good boy.” I stopped him in front of Garrett and smiled. “He’s amazing.”
Garrett nodded, his face serious, and Tom looked at me with a frown.
I was about to ask them what happened when Garrett’s cell phone beeped. He glanced at it and sighed.
“Delilah will be here in ten minutes,” he said, jumping off the fence. “Can you cool him down, please?”
“Yeah,” I said. He stalked off and I glanced at Tom. “Something wrong?”
“When isn’t something wrong?” Tom answered before following Garrett inside the stables.
What the hell?
Midnight nickered, bringing my attention back to him. “All right, big boy.” I slipped off him. “Let’s get you cooled down for your practice.”
I didn’t take him inside to a wash stall since he would be out here again in a few minutes. I just tied his reins to a fence post, took off his saddle, and turned on the hose on the outside of the stable.
As soon as the cold water hit his hot coat, he advanced on me, in a happy gait. I laughed and got out of his way. To let him play, I untied his reins and held them in my left hand, while I hosed him with the right one.
He nipped at my shirt, biting the edge, and pulled me closer.
I laughed. “Hey. Are you trying to get me wet too?”
He nickered and I laughed louder. He tried nipping at me again and I stepped aside, turning around to escape him, and saw Garrett leaning in the stable’s doorway, watching us with his arms crossed.
That caught me by surprised, and I came to an abrupt halt, facing him. He held my stare, his expression impassive. I didn’t get him. Half an hour earlier, I could swear he was flirting with me, and now he was distant and looking at me as if I had stolen something from him.
Midnight poked his muzzle on my waist, tickling me, and I laughed again. I pushed Garrett out of my mind and turned to the horse.
We played with the water for a while, and he did manage to get my legs soaked. Droga, I didn’t have any other jeans with me. Next time, I would bring a couple of extra pants, boots, and tops.
I was about to turn off the hose when Midnight bit my shirt again and pulled me back, away from the faucet.
I laughed. “Come on, big boy. We have to get you ready.”
“What’s going on?”
A chill wave rushed through me. Midnight let go of me and neighed.
I turned around and found Delilah tapping her foot on the ground, her hands on her waist, and her blue eyes about to murder me.
“I asked, what’s going on? What are you doing with my horse?”
“I was helping Garrett. He asked me to cool Midnight down before your practice.” I walked to her, pulling the horse with me. He snorted, not wanting to come, but I jerked the reins with force. I offered her the reins. “Here. He’s all yours.”
She took the reins, still looking at me as if she was going to jump at my throat at any moment.
“Excuse me.” She took a step closer, expecting me to move from her away. Oh, there was plenty of space by my sides. I jutted my chin out and didn’t move.
With a huff, Delilah walked around me, keeping her eyes on mine until she couldn’t turn her neck any farther.
I watched as she marched to the other side of the arena, fighting with Midnight all the way. He didn’t want to go with her, but she pulled him hard and hissed at him. That was no way to treat a horse.
Garrett was going after her, but before walking on, he paused by my side and offered me a hand towel.
“You’ve got some balls,” he said, his lips turned up.
I smiled, using the towel to dry a little of my pants. “I rather think I don’t.”
He chuckled low, and I swear he almost smiled. Shaking his head, he said, “Gotta make sure the princess is well attended.” He tipped his hat and followed his half-sister to where the jumping poles were set up.

F*ck and chuck. Pump and dump. Hit it and quit it. One night stand. Didn’t matter how I branded it—that’s all she had wanted it to be. That much was clear when she left me with my pants down and my dick still out.

What she hadn’t counted on was fate intervening and our worlds colliding—again.

The day I showed back up in the life of Chloe Griffins, I knew I had to have her again. My body was hungry for another taste. Like an addict, I’d been craving another hit for months, and there she was—flesh and bone, tits and ass.

The fact that she worked for the competition should’ve been reason enough for me to leave her alone. I had a job to do that summer and f*cking Chloe wasn’t part of it. But I was like a man possessed.

I’d do whatever it took to haveher again.

Excerpt:

“Enough talk about the heavy stuff. Let’s get back to finding a guy for me to flirt with tonight.” “I thought we’d already found one.” She nodded mischievously toward the insanely hot guy with the blue eyes. “Yeah, right,” I scoffed. “A little out of my league, I think.” “Oh please,” Jackie frowned. “For all we know, he could be covered in back hair and have a small dick.” I burst out laughing and gave my friend a light smack across the arm. It took me a minute to catch my breath. “You’re horrible,” I grinned at her. “Do you know how long it’s been since I flirted with someone? Maybe I should start with more of an average Joe.” I was in the mood for some innocent fun tonight. Being away from home and all the memories and responsibilities it held seemed to have had that affect. Even so, I had a feeling any conversation with the blue-eyed stranger had the potential to turn into something not entirely innocent. “Alright then.” Jackie leaned in to give me a hug as the rest of the bridal party returned from the bar and placed down a variety of drinks and . In the spirit of the evening, I picked up a shot of God-knows-what neon concoction and held it in the air. The other girls followed suit. Smiling at my friend, I shoved down the lump of nostalgia. “I’d like to propose a toast to Jackie and her upcoming nuptials. May she and Rob have a long and happy life together, full of nothing but love, trust, joy...and because it’s Jackie, a whole lot of mind-blowing sex.” All the girls cheered and clinked the assortment of drinks and shots before tossing them back. Jackie beamed. Whether a result of alcohol, love, or the fact that I was looking to have a little fun, I couldn’t be sure. I hoped it wasn’t the latter or my friend would end up disappointed. Despite what I’d said, I had no intention of pursuing anything beyond a mild flirtation with anyone—blue-eyedstranger included.

Also includes bonus content exclusive to the print edition! "A thrilling ride from start to finish," says RT Book Reviews. Starting over sucks. When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up. And then he opened his mouth. Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens. The hot alien living next door marks me. You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades. If I don’t kill him first, that is.

ABOUT LUX: Consequences:
Now available together for the first time, don't miss Opal and Origin, the third and fourth books in Jennifer L. Armentrout's bestselling Lux series. Also includes bonus content exclusive to the print edition! "A thrilling ride from start to finish," says RT Book Reviews. No one is like Daemon Black. When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on. But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love. After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever. Together we’re stronger...and they know it.

Hanna’s story concludes in book three, All for This.   Torn between two men…   When I woke up after the accident, I couldn't remember anything from the last year—including my relationship with Max Hallowell or anything about Nate Crane. Now my memories are returning, but instead of answering my questions, they’re leaving me with more.   The man who broke my heart and wants to be my future…   Max is all I ever wanted, and now he wants to marry me. He’ll do everything he can to fill my life with love, family, and security. I need those things now more than ever. But can I trust him? The man who stole my heart and wants to let me go…   Nate never made me promises, and I never asked him to. I’d been on the rebound, looking for a distraction, and he made me feel beautiful and wanted when I needed to feel those things most. He says he has to let me go, but what if I can’t let go of him?   With every revelation and every passing day, I feel more like Alice down the rabbit hole. I’m falling. Who will catch me?

About the Author:
Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I'm not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids--a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. When I'm feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally. I'm really, really slow) or do yoga. Don't worry, I'm always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving
of ice cream or a chocolate martini. Website | Facebook | Twitter

Excerpt 1:

Three Months before Hanna’s Accident

“I want to introduce you to Nate Crane.”
I lift my head and suddenly I’m sucking in air because my eyes are connected with the man who flirted with me earlier. He’d had a hat and sunglasses on in the bar, and I hadn't recognized him, but this time his identity is clear.
“Hanna, this is Nate Crane. Nate, this is Hanna, my sister.”
His eyes sweep over me the way a guy’s eyes are supposed to sweep over a girl. The way Asher’s eyes sweep over Maggie every time she enters a room. The way William’s eyes sweep over Cally when he doesn't think she’s looking. It sends a little buzz through me that’s not quite a chill but not quite electric either. Just a nice, warm shimmy of sensation that starts at my core and radiates out through my limbs.
Then I check behind me because I’m sure I’m mistaken. He was just playing around at the bar, right? I mean, guys don’t look at me like that. They look at my sisters like that; they look at my best friends like that.
“Maggie never told me her sister was so gorgeous,” Nate says, putting an end to any debate over his attraction to me.
My cheeks warm with a flush I can feel all the way from my chest to my hairline.
“Maggie, I did tell you I have a thing for sweet girls who blush, didn't I? Is she my birthday present? I’d say you shouldn't have, but I’d be lying.” He says all this without taking his eyes off me. His gaze drifts over me again, slower this time, lingering at my waist, my hips, my feet in strappy, heeled sandals. “I was a good boy this year. I deserve her.”
Maggie thumps him in the chest with the back of her hand. “She’s a woman, not some trinket or object that can be given.”
“Oh,” he says, his voice so low I can barely make it out, “I noticed she’s a woman.”
“We met earlier,” I say quickly. “In the bar. He’s just teasing.”
Maggie huffs. “Deserve or not, you can’t have her. Hanna has a boyfriend.”
Oh, no. No, Hanna doesn't. But I didn't tell Maggie about Max. It hurt too much to share what I’d learned. I’m too proud to share it. And if I want to keep our split a secret, I couldn't really tell her if I wanted to. I can’t risk telling anyone.
Nate takes my hand, clearly undeterred by the mention of competition. “Tell me she’s lying. Please? It’s my birthday tomorrow.”
“And you wanted me to jump out of a cake for you?” I retort, but I let him play with my fingers and try to keep my breathing steady. His touch brings back something I didn't think anyone but Max could make me feel.
“I wouldn't complain.”
I’m fresh out of spunk, and stare stupidly. Nate Crane is six feet some-odd inches of deliciously tatted, freshly showered rocker. In ripped-up jeans and a Star Wars tee, he exudes a geekiness that’s only amplified by the tattoos peeking out from under the sleeves. The rest of him is essentially a catalogue of every woman’s fantasy. Broad shoulders, narrow hips, shaggy, dark hair still wet from his shower and curling slightly at the ends. Those intense eyes that seem to be smiling at me as he follows the lines of my palm with his calloused fingertips. He hadn't really been on my radar until this year, when he started performing with Asher at a lot of his tour stops. They’re old friends, apparently.
“You didn't tell me you were a rock star,” I murmur.
“You didn't tell me you have a boyfriend,” he counters.

What If You Had to Choose?: Why I Heart Love Triangles

I am so incredibly lucky. I get to spend my days writing down the stories in my head—pretty much my favorite thing to do—and then people read them and write me to let me know what they thought. After Lost in Me, Book 1 of the Here and Now Series, released, the comment I heard the most was some variation of, “I usually hate love triangles, but…” To say I made you enjoy a trope that you usually dislike, is a huge compliment, so thank you!

But personally? I freaking FLOVE love triangles! I’m addicted. My favorite movies and books all seem to be love triangles. Sometimes the “better guy” is obvious and sometimes he’s not. Sometimes there’s a love triangle and the third party isn’t even around—maybe he’s dead or overseas—but that doesn’t change the heart of what makes a love triangle story work.

Here are a few of my favorite love triangle movies:

While You Were Sleeping? How can you resist the whole forbidden chemistry with the (supposed) fiancé’s brother? The conflict is built in and everyone loves Jack and wants her to end up with him, but he’s such a freaking good guy, he’s not going to do anything to get in the way of what he thinks she wants.

She asks, “Can you give me any reason why I shouldn't marry your brother?”
And my heart just tears into two when he says, “Oh... I can't.”

Love Actually? If there’s a scene that inspires belly butterflies more than the scene where he comes to the door with those signs, I haven’t seen it! The selflessness of the guy who lets go so the girl can move on is super hot. If you haven’t seen it, here’s what the signs say:
With any luck, by next year - I'll be going out with one of these girls. [shows pictures of hot models] But for now, let me say - Without hope or agenda - Just because it's Christmas - And at Christmas you tell the truth - To me, you are perfect - And my wasted heart will love you - Until you look like this. [shows picture of a mummy] Merry Christmas.

And come on…Twilight? That whole series was 400-times more addictive because of the whole Bella-Edward-Jacob thing. (And, confession, I was totally Team Jacob, but that’s a post for another day.)

Two amazing guys in love with the heroine? Yes, please.
All of the naughty forbidden chemistry? Yes, please.
The angsty gut tugging of not knowing how she’s going to choose? Yeah. I’m all over that.

So…love triangles. Love ’em or hate ’em?
