Let me just start by saying thanks to St. Martin's Press for sending me a galley copy of this book for review on Netgalley. I really appreciate how how great you guys have been to me :)
Ahhh this book!!!!!!!
It was ah-maz-ing!!
I thought the first book in the series Frostfire was great. But this one was so so so much better.
Not only does the story get more complicated and crazy, but we also finally get to see somewhat into who is pulling all the strings, and causing the impending war for the Kanin.
Also I love how we get to see a bit more into some of the other characters lives like Kasper and Tilda in particular. I loved those two's relationship. They were adorable and so good together. Plus as Bryne and Kasper work together we get to see a little more into the Hogdragen and how they operate. And Bryne gets to see a little into how it would be if she were to join.
But I will warn ya'll right now, there is a big ohhhh crap! moment at the end of this one. For so many reasons too. I wanted to chuck my nook across the room at one point in particular , and I'm sure once you read this book you will know exactly the one I'm talking about.
And let me just say, there is someone in the book who had been giving me bad vibes from book one and I saw called them being the one behind everything. The so called big surprise string puller. While it hasn't actually been said it was implied and...
I just want to take a moment to say, YES!!!!!!! I knew it! I knew it!
My friends and I always joke that I have this crazy book mojo/psychic thing where I can guess what is going to happen only a chapter or two into the book. I've only been wrong once or twice, and I swear it was because the author and me are friends and she was changing things on purpose to screw with me hehe. (Love you Em) But actually in the end I wound up guessing a chapter or so before the end on how things were going to go down. My book mojo was spot on this time though and there is nothing better than the feeling of knowing you guessed it right ;)
And oh gawd! we get more Ridley in this book! Thank sweet baby Jesus, mother Mary, and heaven above!!!! Hehe. I love that boy so much, he is my new favorite book boyfriend. The now Overste (The officer in charge of commanding the soldiers in times of war. The new name for the Rektor) while not in the book as much as I would have preferred is even more hot and sexy then he was in book one. There are definitely some hot and steamy scenes that made me all gooey inside and and get excited about *sigh
I have definitely been team "Brynley" from page one of this series lol
But as I kinda talked about a little before, there are going to be some crazy things going down in this book. Prince Kennet of the Skojare will be back, more flirtatious than ever. But there will be some unexpected secrets the Skojare are keeping, and they will lead to this books pretty epic ending.
A lot will be left unanswered till book three and I have to say I need to know what is going to happen nowwww!!! I am terrible at waiting, I can admit to that lol
