It's not just the motion of the ocean, ladies. It's definitely the SIZE of the boat too. And I've got both firing on all cylinders. In fact, I have ALL the right assets. Looks, brains, my own money, and a big cock. You might think I'm an asshole. I sound like one, don’t I? I'm hot as sin, rich as heaven, smart as hell and hung like a horse. Guess what? You haven't heard my story before. Sure, I might be a playboy, like the NY gossip rags call me. But I’m the playboy who’s actually a great guy. Which makes me one of a kind. The only trouble is, my dad needs me to cool it for a bit. With conservative investors in town wanting to buy his flagship Fifth Avenue jewelry store, he needs me not only to zip it up, but to look the part of the committed guy. Fine. I can do this for Dad. After all, I’ve got him to thank for the family jewels. So I ask my best friend and business partner to be my fiancée for the next week. Charlotte’s up for it. She has her own reasons for saying yes to wearing this big rock. And pretty soon all this playing pretend in public leads to no pretending whatsoever in the bedroom, because she just can’t fake the kind of toe-curling, window-shattering orgasmic cries she makes as I take her to new heights between the sheets. But I can’t seem to fake that I might be feeling something real for her. What the fuck have I gotten myself into with this…big rock?

Oh my where to start with this amazing book??
I seriously could not have been more excited when the ARC of this book popped up on my Kindle. I love Lauren Blakely's books and this one drew me in from the synopsis alone.

So I guess what I really need to start with here is a huge thank you to Lauren and the InkSlinger team for sending out the ARC to this amazing book for my review. Ya'll work so hard for us bloggers, and I cannot thank you enough for everything :D

So on to the actual review.

As I stated just a bit ago, I loved this book.
But I can admit I am a total sucker for books written from cocky funny male perspectives (See any of my Emma Chase reviews haha)

Lauren had a way of making me fall head over heels for Spencer. He is a hilarious character that left me swooning like a 16 year old. (Seriously I was up all night reading this one when the ARC hit my Kindle and attempting not to laugh and gush too loudly as to not wake up the 6 other people in my house. I almost failed haha)
But it's not just his witty humor that did me in. Spencer is the whole package when it comes to book boyfriends. He's sexy and full of himself just enough to not be pushing the egotistical dick notion. He's confident, and sis I mention funny already hehe. I mean seriously. The things that passed through this guys head had me laughing more than once.
But also something else that I think I should really point out is how dedicated he is to the people he cares about (E.G. his family and Charlotte)
I mean this whole book is based on something Spencer makes up (Well doesn't correct) just to help his dad out. Plus he always has Charlotte's back, either with her weirdo ex or rando men that approach her in the bar Spencer and her own together.
He also tries really hard to respect Charlotte's boundaries, even though you can tell he obviously is seeing his bestie/business partner in a whole new light.

The man was raised right (Despite his man whore-ish ways) and while he is sinful as the devil himself, he has respect for women. Even the quick one night stands he boasts so much about he never leads on or tries to pretend they are something they aren't.

He is a pretty dynamic character and I found him so incredibly adorable, especially at a few times in the book when we got to see a more vulnerable side to him. Which ok I will admit I'm all about the sarcastic alpha male hot heads, but I love the secret vulnerable oh I have feelings side too (Well a little, ok ok, so maybe only in particular men in books haha. I am not an emotional person so the only time you can get me to aww something is pretty much by putting it into a book. Other than that I am a heartless witch and will stomp all over your fragile emotions. Just saying haha) Apparently I am a softy for vulnerable book boyfriends though, go figure.

Well moving on from the Spectacular Spencer (I am totally calling him that from now on! I call dibs on that fantastic magician name for him ha!) (Wow I'm weird, and maybe a tad dorky. I can admit to it though hehe)

So seriously, I want to talk about Charlotte now.
Let me get past my female character hate for a moment and just say that I DIDN'T hate her. In fact I really LOVED her. (Gasp! yes I know. I just admitted to liking a female character. World must be ending and all that haha)

But for-realsies I adored her too. She is just a fun character and I loved her spunk and ability to dish everything Spencer sent her way right back.
When we're introduced to her she seems so quite and even maybe a tad shy and then BAM!! She is this whole other awesome person. I mean seriously she went from that shy little thing to this woman who can give Spencer a run for his money in the sexy department.
Plus the way she holds her own against the slightly sexist man buying Spencer's dad's jewelry company (The whole reason she and Spencer are in this mess) I give her serious props.
But something I also like about her is that much like Spencer she is loyal to a fault. I mean how many women do you know would just go well ok lets get engaged since you decided to tell this big fib of omission to help your dad sell his company. Yeah I'm going to go with a not many on that.
Plus I just love a female character I can relate to in some way. She's strong and a little vulnerable and just a wholesome character when it comes down to things.

yeah I don't really have much more to say about her other than I really liked her, so I'm just going to quit before I start repeating myself a bunch of times (Because we all know I do it enough in every other review)

I also want to take a quick minute to expand on what I kind of mentioned earlier about Lauren's writing style in this book. I have a tendencies to be pulled towards books like this with fun male dialog. And all it took was me getting through the epilogue to be irrevocably hooked. I fell so hard for Spencer's inner dialog. That's where we get the bulk of his funny sense of humor. And where we really get to see how he truly feels about his family and Charlotte, and the situation they are all in. He is the most honest with himself, even though we see him having to try to talk himself out of decisions sometimes.

All in all, as I'm sure it is obvious by now... I loved this book. I mean seriously everything about this book was great.
I really wish it weren't a standalone, because I could so get on board with more Spencer any time hehe.

I definitely give BIG ROCK:

Big Rock - Size Matter Teaser

Add it to Goodreads here!

Excerpt:

Prologue
Sure, some people will tell you that size does not matter. You know what I’ll tell you? They lie.
You don’t want a tiny diamond on your finger when you can have three carats. You don’t want a one-dollar bill when you can have a Benjamin. And you don’t want to ride a miniature pony when you can saddle up on a rock-star cock at the rodeo of your pleasure.
Why? Because bigger is better. It’s more fun. Ask any woman who’s had to utter the dreaded words, “Is it in yet?”
No woman has ever had to ask me that.
You’re probably wondering by now—just how big is it? C’mon. A gentleman doesn’t tell. I may fuck like a god, but I’m still a gentleman. I’ll open your door before I open your legs. I’ll hold your coat for you, I’ll pay for dinner, and I’ll treat you like a queen in and out of bed.
But I get it. You want an image in your mind. A measurement in inches to make your mouth water. Fine. Imagine this. Picture your fantasy-sized cock; mine’s fucking bigger.
Moving on to looks. Let’s be honest. Some dicks are just motherfucking ugly. I won’t get into all the reasons why. You know what they are, and for now, when it comes to my best asset, all I want you thinking about are these words: long, thick, smooth, hard. If the Renaissance masters were carving sculptures of cocks, mine would be the model for all of them.
But honestly, none of this would matter if my dick didn’t possess the most important attribute of all.
            Performance.
Ultimately, a man’s dick should be measured by the number of orgasms it delivers. I’m not talking about the solo flights. That’s cheating. I’m talking about the Os that can make a woman’s back arch, her toes curl, her windows shatter, her world rock.
How much pleasure has my dick wrought? I don’t kiss and tell, but I’ll leave you with this. My dick has a perfect track record.

That’s why it fucking sucks that he has to go on hiatus.
