French billionaire Marcel Mercier is irresistibly sexy in Gwen Jones’s
fun and sassy follow up to Wanted: Wife.

Kiss Me, Captain
A French Kiss Novel
Gwen Jones

Readers had a brief glimpse of French billionaire Marcel Mercier in Wanted: Wife. The charming heartthrob is back in the new French Kiss Novel, Kiss Me, Captain (Avon Impulse | on-sale August 26th, 2014 | ISBN: 9780062356482). Gwen Jones displays the perfect combination of smart writing, sexy characters, and sassy dialogue that made the first French Kiss Novel a huge success.

Marcel loves women. And there's a string of broken hearts across two continents to prove it. But as CEO of Mercier Shipping, he's got more important things to worry about … like why the charter company he just purchased in the United States is suddenly the center of an international media firestorm.

Now that big, bad Mercier Shipping owns Captain Dani Lloyd's ship, she's sure her job is at stake. But she won't go down without a fight—even if it means chaining herself to the mast of the Esther Reed and refusing to set foot on shore. The delectable captain and her newsworthy dramatics are a PR nightmare, but Marcel is happy to let Dani prove her skills on a weeklong sail to Boston. He knows no woman can resist him for that long … in fact, he's counting on it.

But Marcel's plan to seduce Dani backfires as sparks fly between the billionaire playboy and the passionate captain, which leaves Marcel realizing that winning her heart is a challenge he can't afford to lose.

Title: Bound
Series: Forbidden Series #1
Author: Melody Anne
Publication Date: August 25, 2014

Summary:
Relinquish Control has just opened its doors in Seattle, and already we are not shy for customers. Relinquish Control is an exclusive escort service catering to the most distinguished customers, from business magnates to foreign royalty. This proven and well-established international business offers an elite selection of women who are ready and willing to attend to your every need with no questions asked. Confidentiality is our special obligation.

Jewell Weston is homeless and desperate at age twenty-four. Two years ago, she quit her job to care for her ailing mother and her young brother; the medical bills incurred because of the cancer that killed her mother two months ago took everything the family had, and the state then took away her brother, now age fourteen. The only way for her to get the boy back is by finding a job and securing a home.

When she’s approached by a woman in cashmere and pearls who tells her she can change her life, and is handed a card with the business name Relinquish Control on it, she thinks she has nothing to lose by calling the phone number. Maybe this will be the answer to her prayers, a way to save her little brother from the nightmarish foster home he’s been placed in.

Blake Knight, known to the world as cold and without a heart, is given an exclusive membership to Relinquish Control by his devilish younger brother, who thinks it would be amusing to make his staid brother squirm. Little does this brother realize that Blake does indeed have unusual desires that Relinquish Control can cater to perfectly. What started as a joke turns out to be just what Blake needs. Though the world sees this man as deliberate and emotionless, it’s nothing but a façade. What lies underneath would shock all those who know him.

When he and his two brothers were six, eight and ten, they were tied up and forced to watch while their parents were murdered. The image has been burned into their minds, though they’ve tried to forget, leaving each of them guarded and unwilling to give their trust to anyone other than each other. No one is allowed to have their hearts. The brothers would never think of letting down their guard with anyone else, certainly not with a woman.

Follow Blake and Jewell’s journey and see if they can find a happily ever after…

Excerpt:
“I’m pleased we’re now business partners. I think this venture will be a success.” Blake Knight laughed as he shook hands with Rafe Palazzo, happy the man had finally decided to come to visit from San Francisco. Though Blake had known Rafe for many years, this was the first project the two of them had paired up on. The contracts were signed, and the deal would put a few more hundreds of millions into both of their already fat wallets. “I don’t think there’s a venture out there with your name on it that isn’t a success, Rafe.” “Ah, my friend, the same can be said about what you and your brothers do,” Rafe replied without missing a beat. “We’re just that damn good, I guess,” Blake said. Though at first glance they might come off as smug and self-satisfied, and they might look at multimillion-dollar investments the same way an average person looked at depositing twenty dollars into their savings account, the men were shrewd. They knew how to make money, and they knew they’d always keep making more. Only a select few ruled the world, and Blake Knight had decided, when he was a young boy and his parents’ lives ended right before his very eyes, that he would never be vulnerable again. He would never be one of the weak, easy prey to a world packed with predators. No one would sneak up on him and catch him unawares. “Let’s have a drink, and you can fill me in on what you’ve been doing for the past year,” Rafe told Blake. “Too much time has gone by since our last visit.” The two of them moved toward the conference room doors at Knight Construction. “You’re the one who sold your soul to a woman and disappeared,” Blake reminded his friend. “Don’t knock it, Blake. Ari has changed my life and made me a better man.” “Oh, please, please, for the love of all that’s holy, do not continue,” Blake said, horrified to hear these words coming from a man who was once one of the most ruthless bachelors he’d ever met. “I remember the days when you thought no woman was true, no woman could ever be trusted. Marriage — your second marriage — has ruined you.” “There was a time, Blake, when I would have thrown you up against a wall for just thinking me the slightest bit weak.” “Ha! You would have tried,” Blake said. Neither of them was remotely upset by the exchange, of course. All friendly banter.

One Favorite Moment Event (Ten Tiny Breaths Series) By: K.A. Tucker

Hey ya'll so I am a bit behind again on getting some posts up, but hey better late then never. So to help celebrate K.A. Tucker's new novella In Her Wake the blog is participating in a One Favorite Moment blog tour. I'm here today to share my experience with the series with ya'll.
So I guess the place to start is what got me into this series. I had heard a lot about it for a few months before I actually got my hands on the first book and finally broke down and downloaded it to my nook. Right before I got to read it I had the opportunity to attend Bookbash in Orlando and guess who was there? Yup K.A. Tucker. I got to meet with her get her autograph and learn a good amount about her series. She is an absolutely amazing person and I will tell you I got my butt reading the first book by the end of the weekend along with about 6 other books I discovered while there.
(Yes I have the odd/unique ability to book bounce and read about 3 books at once. I usually wind up getting into one specifically though and this would be it) Ten Tiny breaths (As I've been referring to it as book 1) is a great read and after everything I wish I would have picked it up sooner. I have not had the pleasure if reading the whole series yet, but I'm a few books through and have yet to be disappointed. I really encourage everyone to go out and get the books, you will really love them.

One of my favorite quotes from One Tiny Lie is

This is a text convo between a few characters. Well 2 but with a tad bit of help from a 3rd lol
"Dr. Stayner: Tell me you did one out-of-character thing last night
Livie: I drank enough Jell-O shots to fill a small pool, and then proceeded to break out every terrible dance move known to mankind. I am now the proud owner of a tattoo and if I didn’t have a video to prove otherwise, I’d believe I had it done in a back alley with hepatitis-laced needles. Satisfied?
Dr. Stayner: That’s a good start. Did you talk to a guy?
Kacey(answering for Livie): Not only did I talk to a guy but I’ve now seen two penises, including the one attached to the naked man in my room this morning when I woke up. I have pictures. Would you like to see one?
Dr. Stayner: Glad you’re making friends. Talk to you on Saturday”

Four years ago Kacey Cleary’s life imploded when her car was hit by a drunk driver, killing her parents, boyfriend and best friend. Still haunted by memories of being trapped inside, holding her boyfriend’s lifeless hand and listening to her mother take her last breath, Kacey wants to leave her past behind. Struggling to make ends meet, Kacey needs to figure out how to get by. But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle anything—anything but her mysterious neighbor in apartment 1D.

ONE TINY LIE:

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters, handling her parents' tragic death and Kacey's self-destructive phase with strength and maturity. But underneath that exterior is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. “Make me proud,” he had said. She promised she would...and she’s done her best over the past seven years with every choice, with every word, with every action.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy that she’s going to someday marry. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say ‘no’ to, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men’s rowing team. Definitely him. He’s an arrogant ass who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn’t want in a guy. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fit Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.

FOUR SECONDS TO LOSE:

I believe you don’t have years, or months, or weeks to impact a person’s life. You have seconds. Seconds to win them over, and seconds to lose them.
Owning a strip club isn’t the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine-year-old Cain is starting to second-guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict “no sleeping with his staff” rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain’s self-control . . . and it’s been a long time since any woman has done that.

Twenty-two-year-old Charlie Rourke needs a lot of money, really fast, in order to vanish before it’s too late. Taking her clothes off for men makes her stomach curl, but Charlie tells herself that at least she’s putting her acting and dancing skills to good use. And though her fellow dancers seem eager to nab their sexy, sophisticated, and genuinely caring boss, she’s not interested. After all, Charlie Rourke doesn’t really exist—and the girl pretending to be her can’t get distracted by romance.

Unfortunately, Charlie soon discovers that developing feelings for Cain is inevitable, and that those feelings may not be unrequited—but losing him when he finds out what she’s involved with will be more painful than any other sentence awaiting her.

FIVE WAYS TO FALL:

Sometimes you can’t change—and sometimes you just don’t want to. Discover Ben’s side of the story in this fourth novel by the beloved, top-selling indie author of Ten Tiny BreathsOne Tiny Lie, and Four Seconds to Lose.

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

IN HER WAKE: A Ten Tiny Breaths Novella:

Author’s Note: Although it is a prequel, In Her Wake is best read after completing Ten Tiny Breaths. Before you knew him as Trent in Ten Tiny Breaths, he was Cole Reynolds—and he had it all. Until one night when he makes a fatal, wrong decision…and loses everything.

When a drunken night out at a Michigan State college party results in the death of six people, Cole must come to terms with his part in the tragedy. Normally, he’d be able to lean on his best friends—the ones who have been in his life since he could barely walk. Only, they’re gone. Worse, there’s the shattered body of a sixteen-year-old girl lying somewhere in a hospital bed, her entire life ripped from her because of a case of beer and a set of keys.

Everyone assures him that they know it wasn’t intentional, and yet he can’t ignore the weight of their gazes, the whispers behind his back. Nor can he shake the all-consuming guilt he feels every time he thinks of that girl who won’t so much as allow him near her hospital room to apologize. As the months go by and the shame and loneliness festers, Cole begins to lose his grip on what once was important—college, his girlfriend, his future. His life. It’s not until Cole hits rock-bottom that he can begin to see another way out of his personal hell: forgiveness.

And there’s only one person who can give that to him…

Cover Reveal: Big Game: Hunted Love #1 By: Aden Lowe

Hey ya'll I know I've been MIA for a few weeks even after promising I would be back, but I swear I really am this time. And to prove it, here is the cover of Aden Lowe's new book Big Game. Sounds like a hot interesting one too. Be sure to check it out when it releases in September.

Big Game Cover

Title: Big Game: Hunted Love 1

Author: Aden Lowe

Release Date: September 15, 2014

Genre: Western Romance

RECOMMENDED FOR AGES EIGHTEEN AND UP DUE TO EXPLICIT SEXUAL SITUATIONS, AND STRONG LANGUAGE

Synopsis:

When a legendary predator decides prize horses should be on his menu, Kate takes the advice of her neighbor ranchers and hires a big game hunter to track the mountain lion and remove the threat. The hunter arrives to take up the trail, but instead of the seasoned older man she expects, he's young and impossibly sexy. Freshly back from deployment to Afghanistan as a special forces operative, Jakob needs to clear his head of the horrors of war. When his uncle is injured, Jakob steps in to fulfill the older man's commitment to hunt down a mountain lion on the other side of the state. The prospect of several days in the wilderness with only his horses and dogs for company sounds like the ideal opportunity. Except the infuriating female rancher insists on going along for the ride.

Excerpt:

A faint noise drew Jakob from the twilight that precedes waking, straight into full alert. Unsure what disturbed him, he lay still and allowed his eyes to open a bare slit. Just his luck that mountain lion would be prowling through camp. Unable to spot anything out of place, he sat up, careful not to move too quickly and get his head injury in an uproar again. Splashing, louder than the stream flowing over the rocks, drew his attention. Fascination froze him in place for an instant, forcing him to just watch. At the creek, Kate straightened and squeezed water from her hair, then flipped it back to swing down her naked back. Water droplets clung to her pale skin like crystals, refracting the light and mesmerizing him. She half-turned to retrieve something from the ground, revealing the curve of one breast. The sound of Jakob’s agonized groan must have carried, because she straightened and turned to face him, moving too quickly, and lost her balance. Head wound forgotten, he leaped up and dove across the small camp area in an attempt to catch her before she could fall into the icy water. She recovered just as he reached her, and stood facing him, breathing hard. Something in her face had changed and for the first time since meeting her, Jakob felt as if she actually saw him. The unreachable Ice Queen was gone, and in her place…

Release Day Launch: The Girl He Knows By: Kristi Rose

Happy Book Birthday to Kristi Rose's THE GIRL HE KNOWS! Many thanks to all of the wonderful readers and bloggers that are participating in the Release Day Launch today. Check out the book's details and teaser, and be sure to enter the giveaway below!

The Girl He Needs by Kristi Rose

THE GIRL HE KNOWS by Kristi Rose Lyrical Press | August 18, 2014 Waking up naked next to a good looking man is not a bad way to start the day. Especially since Paisley missed all those opportunities in college, when she was too busy supporting her no good, thankfully now, ex-husband. The problem? This hottie is Hank, her best friend’s older brother, a guy she’s known her entire life. Stopping after one night is the right thing to do. Being with him clearly breaks the best friend code, and from his career as a Naval officer to his Boy Scout reputation, everything about him screams monogamy and commitment. Two things Paisley has had enough of. When Hank presents a “no strings attached” offer, it’s too good to be true. She can enjoy him while still embracing being single. But, poor choices force her to confront old fears of love and loss, and Paisley has to decide if Hank is worth the risk. The alternative is never experiencing the real deal. Or far worse, settling for less

TGHK5

Excerpt from THE GIRL HE KNOWS:

He pulls me toward him and burns me to my center with a kiss, one with such intense heat I’m surprised it doesn’t disintegrate my clothes. I reach for the button on his pants. “No.” He grabs my hands and looks at me. “Yes,” I say. “No.” He stands and pushes me off his lap. “Come on. I’ll take you home.” He grabs my hand and pulls me toward his truck. “Hank,” I cry with frustration and tug my hand back. He turns to face me and throws his hands in the air. “What do you want from me? Sex? We can’t even go on a simple date. Jeez, I can’t believe I’m saying this.” He runs his hand through his hair before stuffing it in his pocket. “Maybe we could try another date,” I suggest. My heart flutters with the anticipation of a second date. The weight of time hangs between us as I wait for him to decide if he wants to be with me again. “You know, I’ve heard of worse ideas,” he answers. He links his fingers with mine and walks me to his truck.

 Excerpt 2:

“Wanna get together again next weekend?” he asks.
I swivel my head to look at him. “Are you serious? No, I don’t want to get together next weekend. This”—I gesture in the space between us—“cannot happen again.”
“Why not?” He grins and wags his eyebrows.
“It’s a disaster in the making.”
“What do you mean?”
“Jeez, where do I start? This whole thing is wrong. My friendship with Gigi, our friendship. It could all go up in smoke. Is it worth it?” How does he not see this?
“I’m just talking about going out together.”
“Sure, you make it sound harmless. But the last time we got together it led to sex. When I get around you, my judgment gets out of whack and I might do something stupid.” OK, perhaps I should say I might continue to do something stupid. Stupid has already come and gone.
“As I see it, if you’re gonna do something stupid, who better with than your old pal Hank? I can think of a thousand stupid things to do together.” Does he really think it’s that simple? He turns toward me, rests his hand on the top of my seat, and gives me a toothy grin.
I want to laugh or shove his shoulder because he’s being flippant but he needs to know where I’m coming from, that I was once broken.

Opposition By: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Hey ya'll sorry for such little posting this past month. Between going on vacation for a few weeks and getting stuff ready for the new semester it has been pretty busy around here. I still owe you guys a  couple winners from our blog birthday and June giveaways and I swear those will be up hopefully today or tomorrow.

For the next couple weeks as I get settled into my new routine for the semester posts could be a little spotty and at published at some odd times. Please just give me a little time to get back in the swing of things and everything should be good soon :)

So to kick things off I am getting my review for Opposition by Jenn Armentrout posted.
If you haven't read her Lux series yet you seriously need to get to a book store, Target or Walmart and pick the books up. They are amazing and you guys will seriously love them. Actually the books are now available in companion like books where the first will include book 1 and 2 and then the second will offer books 3 and 4. These new combined books are called Lux Beginnings and Lux Consequences. So it is actually easier for you to get a hold of the books now. Sorry for that bit of a side note. Just some helpful info for ya'll.

Back to Opposition: Which not only is the fifth and final book but also includes the prequel Shadows that was only available in E-print originally.

Overview:
Opposition
Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came. She can’t believe Daemon stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred.
Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.
Shadows
The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. To him, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane. Dangerous.
Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in. Captivated.
Dawson can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or stop a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself. (From B&N)

Where to start where to start. I have been waiting it seems like forever for this amazing book. And actually I was able to get my hands on it a few days early thinks to the awesome people at Books-A-Million.

After getting it early while in Florida on vacation it took me almost a week to bring myself to actually pick up the book and read it. Don't ask me the exact reason because I'm not for sure I can tell you, but I really think it was some mental thing with not wanting the series to end. I found these book sometime soon after the third book Opal came out and painstakingly waited for the last two books to be out over the past few years. The series will seriously suck you in and it did that exact thing to me. I fell in love with Daemon and Katy and all their Luxen friends and I have to say I am incredibly sad to see them go. That said I am 132% sure that Opposition was a spectacular ending to it all. Armentrout wrote a beautiful conclusion that tied up everything, leaving no lose ends and an ending you could never begin to guess. Like I said I am sad to see the books end but I don't think you could ask for anything better.

The end of the world is what it looks like at the start of this book. Aliens invading, people dying, whole cities being taken over.

And Katy, Beth, Luc, and Archer have no earthly idea where Daemon, Dee, or Dawson are or what side they choose now that the Luxen have landed.
I have to say the first couple chapters or so I just couldn't get into the book. (Like I said though I was going through some emotional drama on this book anyways.) After several days of pushing through like 2 chapters, I finally just sat down while babysitting my sick nephew and wound up coming up for air several hours later and over half way done. (Actually there were several breaks where I took care of the adorable kid, but you get what I mean)

Once I finally got to a good point in my head where I was ready to read this story it took no time to finish. A day to be exact, which is actually pretty normal for a book like this I have been dying to read. Opposition is fast paced and a whole lot of exiting whit and drama. I lost count of the amount of smart ass comments Daemon made throughout the book and just so you know all were extremely funny and had me laughing out loud while my family gave me weird looks.

One of the many things I loved about this book was the way that Jenn could still build her characters. After 4 previous books she still found a way to add extra layers of depth to all of them. While the main 3 or 4 characters had been pretty well explained in previous books, but there were some newer ones that at the end of Origin who we still had a lot of questions about. Archer and Luc being the main two. The two Origins still held a crap ton of mystery and I have to say while Luc creeptasticly creeped me out at times, I really did find myself liking Archer the more he was around. More so in Opposition as the relationship between him and Daemon grew to epically funny proportions. Talk about a seriously building bromance ya'll. Plus I am totally on team Dee and Archer, they are adorable together.
Like I said The original characters like Katy, Daemon, Dee, and Dawson had a lot of their personalities and history already explained but there were definitely a few times where their character added a level of complexity that allowed you to empathize with them on a much better level.

I know this review seems a bit vague. That is not my intention but I am trying extremely hard here not to give anything away. Because in all reality my love for this book would be a long winded retelling of the whole thing to try to get you to go read it even though I just gave away all of the best parts.

Well I guess something that I can Talk about in all his glorious Alien glory is Daemon Black. Aside from Patch from Hush Hush Daemon is by far one of my favorite book boyfriends. (Kaidan from Sweet evil is ranked pretty high on that list too just so everyone knows)

Seriously if this hot hunky alien were a real person I might just die. His quick smart ass whit and loving personality draws me in. Plus who doesn't love a hot alien with a body an Abercrombie model would be jelly of. (Not me hehe)

I love the way he treats Katy though, which is rather funny if you have read this series and know how opposite that is from Obsidian, where if you searched the phrase douche canoe on Google you would find a picture of Daemon black staring back at you. He has come a long way ya'll and melted my heart in the process. While his attitude towards Katy and humans in general has progressed through the series the smart ass-ery and overall funny demeanor never did. Still popping off sarcastic comments when irritated (Which is practically the whole time) and whispering sexy as hell innuendos to Katy we see that total world destruction can't keep a sexy beast down. plus his love for his siblings is something to be admired as well. Even after a certain spunky alien sister goes to the dark side Daemon never gives up on her and tries his hardest to bring her back and keep her safe. He also does the same for his brother and Beth.
Plus I kind of touched on it earlier, but Daemon and Archer form this adorable bromance thing and every time the two interacted I found myself cracking up. Archer always being in every ones head made for some pretty great moments. Also if you read the spin off book Obsession about Hunter the Arum you are in luck because he is back. And that whole relationship between he and Daemon offers some great entertainment. Because hey its Daemon and if another guy is present the sarcastic comments are sure to rear their hilarious heads.

I really don't know what else to say other than you need to go get this book or start the series as soon as possible. I know the whole alien thing sounds kinda weird and crazy at first, but this series will seriously make you wish you had geeked out over hot aliens instead of sparkly vampires all those years ago.

I give this book 10 stars and really hope you check it out.
plus be sure to pop by Jenn Armentrout's blog and see what other books she has. Her Covenant series is amazing along with pretty much everything else she writes. You wont be disappointed. Promise.
