Deep By: Kylie Scott

I just want to start by saying thank you so so much to Michelle over at St. Martin's Press for sending me my advanced readers copy of this book. I absolutely appreciate it, and was so happy to receive the book. You made my day :)

Synopsis:

Their one night stand wasn't supposed to end this way…

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the devastatingly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man who's ever made her feel out of control with desire? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister, and no matter how hot the chemistry between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben has a moment of weakness in Sin City, he
learns that what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a true connection of the heart?
(From B&N)

Ok I just want to take a long minute to just SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!

*****

Ok minute passed hehe...

This book was so amazing. I got into the series a little over a year ago when a friend introduced me to Lick through her Audible account. I absolutely loved the group of rockers and by the time I got to Play I was fully in love with the crazy drummer Mal. His larger than life personality kept me reading and soon enough I was dying to hear the sexy bearded bass players tale as well. Being that the main lady in this book Lizzy is the sister-in-law to the hottie drummer I knew I would get a good amount of my boy in this book too. But that was just a plus ;P

Ben has always been the more mysterious of the four rockers. We see little glimpses of him in the other three books, but only enough to know that he is the keep in the shadows type. And a huge ladies man. Ben has never found a reason to want to lived the shacked up life, and now hahaha he has a baby on the way. Talk about a shock lol. I loved seeing the laid back bass player not knowing what to do or how to handle the news Lizzy drops on him.

Kylie Scott does a great job of once again bringing her lovable rockers to life, and I enjoy how real all the guys, and girls seem. I totally want to go to a Stage Dive show, right after I go get a tattoo out in Denver at the Marked by some hot tattoo artists hehe. *Dreamy far off look. If only my sexy book boyfriends existed lol

Ok so what is the best part of this book you ask? The smart humor between Kylie's characters. We see over and over in this series the amazing writing she produces but I have to say I think this one was my favorite in the humor department. Lizzy had me rolling more times then not, and I will have to show ya'll a pic at the end of this of my ARC. There are like a billion little post-it's where I marked the lines that made me laugh. I'm a big believer in active reading hehe. (I actually became a little manic with it these past couple weeks. I read Confess by Colleen Hoover before this one, and had a very possessed moment where I couldn't find the new stickies I had bought and just HAD to mark all the amazingness Colleen was dishing out. Same with Deep too.) Yeah weirdo book lover here;)
Anyhoo the humor is amazing. But the thing I loved even more would have to be the style of writing in this book. While Kylie's characters all seem to have some form of text conversation here and there, a good third of this book was written in text form. I think it was a great way to show the relationship between the two and made for a much lighter teasing mood for the book. It was a way for Ben to better express himself I thought. For a man who didn't seem to say very much, he always tended to say what he was thinking through the text messages he and Lizzy sent back and forth.

Something else I liked about this book was how it bounced between past and present. Usually I get kinda annoyed by this kinda thing because it can be hard to follow sometimes, but Kylie did such a great job at it, that I found myself wanting more of each part of the story. While the books is in chronological order to the other three, it is technically the farthest into the story we have been before and picks up a few months further in the future than the third book Lead left off at. At first it left a lot of questions as to what happened between the Stage Dive crew, but soon enough all the blanks were filled in and we were caught back up to the present time. This book is also the first to really have the band on a full time tour. We got little snip it's from it as the other books progressed but as the events of the story went the tour would either get delayed for some outside reason. I liked seeing the guys on tour doing their thing. It gave us a bigger glimpse into the rock star lives they live, and helped to show just how different they were now that almost all the band was with their girls. except dumb Ben who was enjoying what he still considered the single life, even though we all know the rock god was all about him some Lizzy.

Ok so this point isn't really a negative, more of just a  dislike. And I swear I'm not complaining because this is an intricate part of the story and was very much needed I think... but, I really hated how mad Mal and Anne were at Ben. I mean I know knocking up your best friends wife's little sister is not cool, but I really wanted to smack around my lovable drummer for getting so mad. Crap happens, and if the rolls had been switched Mal would have been defending the crap out of his actions, telling everyone that it was none of their business who he was with, and how nothing would stop him from being with who he wanted. He pretty much did that with Anne, but hey who's mentioning that lol.
Like I said though, I understand the need for them to be that way, and I really don't think the book would be the same without Anne's quick whit when it came to and I quote "The bearded wonder" or even better yet "The Sperminator". Their disdain for said bearded wonder gave the story a much more complex story line and worked as a whole to make Ben and Lizzy's relationship deeper, and more complicated. (No pun intended)

Something else about this book that I really enjoyed was Lizzy herself. Until this book Lena so far had been my favorite of Kylie's female cast, but I think Lizzy has almost tied for that spot. Her character had me laughing so many times it made for me reading in public almost impossible. I can even admit to being caught out at the kids I nanny's softball practice grinning like a moron. Here I am reading this book with this sexy half clothed rocker on it at a ten year old's practice smiling like a complete fool. Needless to say the mom that saw gave me this really weird look and it took everything in me not to want to turn tale and run to the bathroom or something to hide. I must have been about 5 shades of red afterwards.
Something else that made Lizzy so great was that she was relatable to me. While the other girls are not old, the other three are a bit older than then Lizzy, well except Ev back during Lick who was twenty one. But to me Ev never seemed that young. She had a maturity about her that always made her seem much older. Lizzy is the same age as me, going through college in a fairly similar track as me, and I just found myself relating so much more to her. Between her texting style, sarcasm, and fiery temper I felt myself going "you go girl" on more than one occasion. Plus her trying to rain in the cursing so "Bean", her unborn baby wouldn't come out swearing like a sailor made me giggle. I live with my sisters three kids and do the exact thing around them. And let me tell you, as a twenty one year old who lived on her own before moving in with small children who repeat everything you say, that is a ridiculously hard habit to break. Like I said, I have a similar temper to Lizzy when I get mad and just felt like her character was the walking embodiment of a lot of what I experience in day to day life. I love how Kylie can create such realistic characters. It makes the novels so much more relatable and I fall in love with her characters the more I get of them.

Ok your probably wondering why I had a gush session for Lizzy, I mean I know my normal style is to have some long butt paragraph for my love of the males and it's coming, because I loved Ben. I just felt like in this one I actually found myself more drawn to Lizzy, plus my love is Mal and hey I can't be cheating on him with Ben, no matter how sexy hehe.

So... On to Ben. The first thing I would like to point out is that this cover while extremely hot, and sexy, does Ben no justice at all. The guy has a full beard and a man bun at times for crying out loud and I kinda wish the cover model did too *pout.
But like I said whoever that tattooed beauty is on the cover, I do not disapprove of you, just wish you had a bit more hair present. You go sexy man model, I give you permission to come knocking any day ;P

Well, now that that is through back to Ben. I have never really had a whole lot of love for the facial hair thing, but after reading this book I am dying to get my hands on someone with it. And all these pictures Kylie keeps posting on her Facebook page are doing me in. I mean those men are sexy! and I so approve of the man bun now. Thank you Kylie for opening my world to the wonders of facial hair and buns lol.
I love how easy going Ben is though. The man lets everything just roll off him, ok maybe not the best way to go abut things when considering you got someone knocked up, but other than that it works. He is the one guy in the band that really enjoys his life, and what he does. He never lets things get to him and I love the spark I see when he starts talking about his music and love for it. I mean I know he's fictional and all, but we rarely see someone who truly enjoys what they do for a living, and it was refreshing to see someone so dedicated and getting pure joy from it. Although let it be noted that while that is great and all the boy needed to pull his head out of you know where and get his crap together when it came to Lizzy. While he was doing the right thing staying away from her because of his dedication to his best friend, I wanted him to really show Lizzy how he truly felt. You could see how much he was falling for her and I hated that he held back so much. I am definitely the shipper in my group of friends, and make it my life's mission to put people together. So I was dying not being able to push those two into each others arms.
So I feel the need to point this out just because, but I love that Ben was older than Lizzy. I myself tend to go for the older of men and liked that while there was a pretty significant age gap, Ben never took advantage of it. He didn't treat Lizzy like a little girl and I got all warm and fuzzy over the sexy older man acting as he did, when he wasn't being a fool about his woman.

Ok so just a warning for those of you who follow this series. The witch is back! *Tune from Wizard of Oz played now
(Insert Capital B in place of W, gotta keep this review somewhat clean so Amazon won't boot my review... Again)

Hurry quick someone get a bucket of water to throw on her.

So because we are dealing with a story about Ben, it is only fitting that his Wicked Witch of New York sister came back into the picture. Martha is back and in even better form from her appearance in Lick. I mean talk about wanting to punch someone, that chick needs a swift kick to the head. Except for the end of Deep, ya'll will see. I think that may have been the only time i actually liked the girl. Other than that, what I wouldn't give to see the girl get his with a lightning bolt or something.
But I must say I am intrigued about a spin off story about her. Kylie does the lovely job of sparking a very interesting possible romance for the witch and now I want to see it play out. Evil author for leaving me hanging like that lol

So I'm sure you can already tell, but over all this book was amazing, and I am so sad to see it end. I love the Stage Dive crew and would read books about them forever. But I guess like everything all good things must come to an end. Although I am calling serious shenanigans and will raise holy hell to get more of The Witch and a certain security guards story *Hint Hint Kylie lol
These book are one of my favorites and I just want to say thanks Kylie for writing such amazing characters and giving us such great books. It really was a great ride and I cannot wait to see what you have planned next.

I give Deep:

Here is a really bad picture of me when I met Kylie last summer at Bookbash for your enjoyment as well. She looks amazing, me eh, I was so excited my eyes went all squinty and I had this annoyingly big grin plastered across my face. To which my really good friend that went with me, teased me relentlessly about lol

Lucky Is Reading Giveaway Hop

Hey ya'll. I haven't done a giveaway hop in forever it seems, But I finally got my butt back in action and here it is :)

The theme of this one is LUCKY. And well there are so many books I feel like I have been lucky enough to read over the years,
And as of late I have had a crap ton of luck in my life when it comes to the blog. I've made friends with the St. Martin's Press people over the past couple months and they have been such a blast to work with and given me some great opportunities to review a few of their books, I also found out I'm officially a member of Cora Carmack's street team the Carmcats, which I can't even explain how excited about that I was.
And last, the guy I'm championing for Entangled's March Madness event this month made it to round two.
All these things have been so exciting for me and I really want to help make someone else's day by spreading the luck.

So for this hop I will be giving away an e-copy of All Lined Up by Cora Carmack with all the excitement of being lucky enough to make her street team

Synopsis:
Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

As if going to the same college as her football-star ex wasn't bad enough, her father, a phenom in Texas's world of high school coaching, has decided to make the jump to college ball . . . as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting lineup. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Let me just start by saying thanks to St. Martin's Press for sending me a galley copy of this book for review on Netgalley. I really appreciate how how great you guys have been to me :)

Ahhh this book!!!!!!!

It was ah-maz-ing!!

I thought the first book in the series Frostfire was great. But this one was so so so much better.
Not only does the story get more complicated and crazy, but we also finally get to see somewhat into who is pulling all the strings, and causing the impending war for the Kanin.
Also I love how we get to see a bit more into some of the other characters lives like Kasper and Tilda in particular. I loved those two's relationship. They were adorable and so good together. Plus as Bryne and Kasper work together we get to see a little more into the Hogdragen and how they operate. And Bryne gets to see a little into how it would be if she were to join.

But I will warn ya'll right now, there is a big ohhhh crap! moment at the end of this one. For so many reasons too. I wanted to chuck my nook across the room at one point in particular , and I'm sure once you read this book you will know exactly the one I'm talking about.

And let me just say, there is someone in the book who had been giving me bad vibes from book one and I saw called them being the one behind everything. The so called big surprise string puller. While it hasn't actually been said it was implied and...
I just want to take a moment to say, YES!!!!!!! I knew it! I knew it!

My friends and I always joke that I have this crazy book mojo/psychic thing where I can guess what is going to happen only a chapter or two into the book. I've only been wrong once or twice, and I swear it was because the author and me are friends and she was changing things on purpose to screw with me hehe. (Love you Em) But actually in the end I wound up guessing a chapter or so before the end on how things were going to go down. My book mojo was spot on this time though and there is nothing better than the feeling of knowing you guessed it right ;)

And oh gawd! we get more Ridley in this book! Thank sweet baby Jesus, mother Mary, and heaven above!!!! Hehe. I love that boy so much, he is my new favorite book boyfriend. The now Overste (The officer in charge of commanding the soldiers in times of war. The new name for the Rektor) while not in the book as much as I would have preferred is even more hot and sexy then he was in book one. There are definitely some hot and steamy scenes that made me all gooey inside and and get excited about *sigh
I have definitely been team "Brynley" from page one of this series lol

But as I kinda talked about a little before, there are going to be some crazy things going down in this book. Prince Kennet of the Skojare will be back, more flirtatious than ever. But there will be some unexpected secrets the Skojare are keeping, and they will lead to this books pretty epic ending.
A lot will be left unanswered till book three and I have to say I need to know what is going to happen nowwww!!! I am terrible at waiting, I can admit to that lol

Prologue

Violet

“Fairy dust is not real. This I know.” —from the journal of Violet St. Lyons   Boom! I, Violet St. Lyons, who once believed herself the luckiest girl in the world, was born on the same day that the Violette–Sells comet was discovered. My parents, two avid stargazers, said it was a sign of how special I was and promptly named me Violet. They claimed my life had been blessed with fairy dust. At the very least, comet residue. I’d foolishly believed it for eighteen years, until the moment of my death. Which was now. Boom! Another explosion rocked the plane and metal ripped away as a section of the aircraft to my right vanished. Luggage flew through the air. People disappeared. The mom with the baby who’d sat in the aisle across from us—gone. The redheaded flight attendant who’d been collecting trash—gone. Disembodied screams echoed from the surrounding passengers as my own scream took up most of the space in my head. Air sucked at us viciously from the outside as a tornado of people banged around the space and one by one got pulled out into the swirling abyss. I watched, helplessly transfixed, as I sat between my parents, gripping each of their hands as the plane we’d boarded six hours earlier for Dublin spiraled toward the Atlantic Ocean. I was going to die. My mother was already dead, a twisted piece of shrapnel sticking grotesquely from her chest as her head lolled around her neck. Blood had already soaked her shirt, yet I refused to let go of her hand. She’d be okay. We were always okay. We were the St. Lyons family of Manhattan, an icon of old money wealth with deep political ties. Page six of the New York Times featured pictures of us on a monthly basis. We couldn’t die on a plane. Reality dawned as we plummeted. The yellow breathing apparatus dropped and dangled in my face, taunting me with its pointlessness. Fire and black smoke boiled in front of us where the cockpit had been, and my mind recognized that the pilots had to be dead. Just a few minutes ago, they’d come over the intercom and announced that the plane was making its descent into Dublin Airport exactly on schedule. Then the first explosion had gone off. Bits of debris flew around, narrowly missing me. My elderly father grabbed my hand and squeezed, his face drawn back in a horrible grimace. Fear and then horror flickered across his face as he saw Mother, but there was no time to comfort him. Paralyzed in my seat, we spun like a drunken top, and a part of my brain noticed the sun was rising, its pink tinge lending a soft glow, catching the reflection of clouds and making them silver-lined. The rocky coast of Ireland glittered in the distance. Mocking me. We’d been headed there to celebrate my eighteenth birthday. Just then my violin case flew past my head from the overhead compartment and crashed against the wall of the plane. Shards flew. I shuddered and wanted to vomit. God, help us. We were here because of me. Our deaths were my fault. I spared a glance at the diamond promise ring Geoff had given me before we’d left. Would the Mayor of New York’s son go on without me? The air was turbulent yet thin, and my chest tightened as dizziness pulled at me. I resisted. Had to stay awake. Had to be with my dad. I was younger, stronger, faster. My eyes went to the gaping hole in the plane. Had to think ahead. Plan. Water would fill up the plane on impact, ensuring we’d sink rapidly. My fear escalated as the ocean rushed at us, its surface choppy and ominous. I took in a giant breath and braced myself. We hit at an angle, the plane a torpedo as it sliced into the sea. Daddy disappeared, ejected by the impact, and I yanked on my seat belt, unclicking it to go after him. Heart thundering, I sent a final look at my mother. I wanted to take her with me, but she was gone. Water everywhere, bubbling and gurgling as it filled up the plane. Salt water stung my eyes. People floated by, some alive as they floundered for the opening. I kept my gaze off the dead ones. Focus. Get out. Only seconds left. I swam from my seat and fought my way out of the large hole in the plane, lungs exploding. Burning. I’d been under too long. Daddy! I caught a glimpse of his red shirt above me and kicked harder. Up, up, up. Must get up. My arms moved. My legs kicked. Excruciating pain. Ignore it. Almost there. So close that I could see the daylight breaking through the water. The hottest fire I’ve ever known lit in my chest. Scorching. Air. Just want to breathe. Just get to the top. Please. My body rebelled and I inhaled and swallowed water, the burn racing down my throat making it spasm as I tried to cough it out. I struggled but took in more and more, the cold liquid filling my lungs. Dark spots filled my eyes. This was drowning. Exhausted. Done. My body twitched. I grew disoriented. I let go of the fight. My hands floated in front of me. Oblivion. Darkness. No bright lights, no tunnel. No heaven, no mother, no father. No comets. No fairy dust.

Chapter 1

Sebastian

Two years later   “She was music with skin.” —Sebastian Tate   I tapped my foot. What was taking her so long? From my backyard patio in the Hollywood Hills, I watched the odd girl next door with a pair of high-powered binoculars. She flicked on her porch lights, and a low whistle came out of me at the sexy red-as-sin robe she wore, its silky material flashing around her long legs as she moved around her patio. Her hair was down, too. This was new. Where were the usual yoga pants? The ponytail? She looked like she knew someone watched, but that was impossible since our outside lights were off. Even the light from the moon hit our house at such an angle that she shouldn’t be able to see us just by glancing over. She’d need a high-powered lens to know I was here. Usually she played facing her rose garden, but this time she walked to the right side of her patio, which faced us. Weird. But she didn’t play. She just stood there without moving. Staring toward our house. Uneasiness went over me. What was she doing? Could she see me? As if it were a fragile bird, she positioned the violin under her chin and began playing, arms bent and wrist poised, making the most exquisite sounds. And I don’t mean classical like Beethoven or Mozart; I mean body-thrashing, blood-thumping, hard-as-hell music that had me rooted to the ground, like she’d slapped iron chains on me. Dark and seductive notes rose up in the air, and I got jacked up, recognizing a Led Zeppelin song, only she’d ripped its guts out and twisted it into something electric. She pushed the bow hard, upping the tempo abruptly, her movements controlled yet wild. My pulse kicked up and my eyes lingered, taking in the slightly parted toned legs and the way her breasts bounced as she jerked her arms to manipulate the strings. Her body arched forward in a curve, seeming as if she might break into a million pieces before she finished the piece or climaxed first. Then, her robe slipped off her right shoulder, exposing part of her breast. Creamy and full, it quivered, vibrating as she moved her arms. Her rosy nipple teased me, slipping in and out of the folds of the material, erect from the cool mountain air and deliciously bitable. I pictured my mouth there, sucking, my fingers plucking, strumming her like my guitar until she begged me to— Stop, I told myself just as an appreciative groan came out. Whoever Violin Girl was, she didn’t deserve me lusting after her while she was pouring her heart out with music. I zoomed in as far as the binoculars would go, watching her surrender to the music as she bent and swayed from side to side with her eyes closed, black lashes like fans on her cheeks. Every molecule in my body focused on her, hanging on to each note she pulled from her instrument. She finished and kept her head bowed for the longest time, perhaps letting the emotion wash over her like it had me. Then, she bowed to the banana trees and gnomes in her garden, waving her hands in a flourish as she rose. The entire event was surreal, yet poignant as fucking poetry. I let out a deep breath I didn’t even realize I’d been holding. Who the hell plays Stairway to Heaven with a violin? She did. Bam! She snapped her head up, her eyes lasering in on mine, making every hair on my body stand at attention. And then … Standing there in the moonlight, she untied her robe and spread apart the sides ever so slightly, her movements seeming almost hesitant, as if she’d had to work herself up. Unfamiliar jealousy hit me and I panned out and checked the rest of the patio, expecting to see a lover. Whoever it was, I wanted to rip him apart piece by piece. And didn’t that thought surprise me. My gaze searched her patio, the backyard, her upstairs balcony. Nothing. No one. She flicked her dark hair back and stroked the lapels of the robe, her fingers lingering over the lacy material. Suddenly the evening smacked of something more than just music. Her arms moved back and forth across the front, opening the robe halfway and then closing it as if she couldn’t make up her mind. My eyes went up, trying to read her face. Still as a statue, the only movement was her mouth as it trembled, her full upper lip resting against the pouty lower one. Tears ran down her face, but they seemed more of a defiant act, her jaw tightly set, her shoulders hunched inward as if she’d held it in too long and was giving in, but not without a fight. Violin Girl was trapped in a cage of darkness. It still didn’t stop me from holding my breath, silently begging her to bare herself to me. She’d already laid bare her music. Part of me needed the rest of her. She jerked the robe closed, making me groan in disappointment. And then she did something completely crazy. The lonely girl next door flipped me the bird. © Ilsa Madden-Mills 2015 Very Twisted Things

Frostfire By: Amanda Hocking

Synopsis:
Hidden deep in the heart of a snow-covered wilderness lies the secret kingdom of the Kanin—a magical realm as beautiful as it is treacherous…Bryn Aven has never fit into Kanin society. Her blond hair and blue eyes set her apart as an outsider—a half-blood unable to hold a respectable rank. But she’s determined to prove herself as a loyal protector of the kingdom she loves. Her dream is to become a member of the King’s elite guard, and she’s not going to let anything stand in her way…not even her growing feelings for her boss, Ridley Dresden. A relationship between them is strictly forbidden, but Bryn can’t fight her attraction to him. And she’s beginning to think he feels it too. Meanwhile, there’s an attack on the kingdom—one that will test Bryn’s strength like never before. Finally, she has the chance to confront Konstantin Black, the traitor who tried to kill her father years ago. It’s up to Bryn to put a stop to him before he strikes again. But is she willing to risk everything to protect a kingdom that doesn't accept her for who she really is? And when her mission brings her closer to Ridley, will she be able to deny her heart? (From B&N)

Ok I just want to start by saying thank you to St. Martin's Press for sending me this book to review. You guy's are amazing, and I'm really grateful for getting the opportunity. I loved this book so much.

So in case you didn't know this series is a spin off of Amanda's Trylle series. Which I loved. But to tell you the truth I think I might actually like this new one even better. I love Bryn's story and find her fun and one strong chick. She is so different from Wendy in the Trylle series and I liked how independent she was.

When Amanda Hocking introduced us to the world of Trylle I thought it was new and exciting. But as we delve further into it in this book I fell more in love. Seeing the world of the Kanin gives us a much better look into her crazy magical world, and allows us to see things from a different perspective. Instead of being introduced to the world from an outsiders prospective like we had during Trylle, we got to see what this incredible place looked like from someone born into it. To me it was interesting to see it this way. And see how the different tribes histories were all intertwined and fit together better.

As I said before I love Bryn. She is spunky and smart and so independent. She had to work her way to where she is and I respect reading about a character that proves just how amazing she is. Don't get me wrong now, I love me a good story where the hot guy comes in and saves the day. But it's nice to see a strong leading lady now and then.
I actually really liked how different Bryn was from the other Kanin too. While it presented a problem to her, I liked how it made her unique and stand out. Plus it makes her stand out to Ridley *wages eyebrows.

Speaking of the sexy Rektor ;)
I absolutely loved him. Oh Ridley!!!
He is incredibly caring and passionate about his work. While he might be to old to be out in the field as a tracker, he has taken the position as their leader. He makes sure everyone is ok, especially Bryn. The hotness that is the man with his persistent five o'clock shadow and unruly hair that has grown out adds so much more to this story. While he is the growing romantic interest of Bryn, he also serves to show just how hard she is working to gain a spot on the royal guard and to help support her through her struggles with the evil Konstantin Black (Well the presumed evil Konstantin Black *Que suspenseful music *DUN DUN DUN)

Hocking also did an incredible job of creating a great supporting cast. I loved Bryn's friends. They have a way of seeing deeper into her, and making her realize things she would rather try to pretend aren't happening. They also make her realize that she cannot do everything on her own. Ember in particular is my favorite. And who doesn't love a crazy Trylle who doesn't exactly fit the mold like everyone else? Any who her supporting characters are the best and I adore them all, even Bryn's parents are interesting and add a lot to the story.

Overall this book was great. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one Ice Kissed that comes out in a month or so.

I give Frostfire
