Blog Tour: Inspire By Cora Carmack

Hey ya'll I am so excited to be a part of this tour. Cora has written an absolutely stunning book, and I loved every minute of it. I hope you all will go out and find a copy of it as soon as possible, it really is what I believe to be her best book yet :)
And from now until the 20th you can pick up Inspire for only $2.99

About INSPIRE:
Kalliope lives with one purpose. To inspire. As an immortal muse, she doesn’t have any other choice. It’s part of how she was made. Musicians, artists, actors—they use her to advance their art, and she uses them to survive. She moves from one artist to the next, never staying long enough to get attached. But all she wants is a different life— a normal one. She’s spent thousands of years living lie after lie, and now she’s ready for something real. Sweet, sexy, and steady, Wilder Bell feels more real than anything else in her long existence. And most importantly… he’s not an artist. He doesn’t want her for her ability. But she can’t turn off the way she influences people, not even to save a man she might love. Because in small doses, she can help make something beautiful, but her ability has just as much capacity to destroy as it does to create. The longer she stays, the more obsessed Wilder will become. It’s happened before, and it never turns out well for the mortal. Her presence may inspire genius. But it breeds madness, too.

Where to begin? Where to begin? I have to say I loved every minute of this book and so I really don't know how to start with out totally fangirling out hehe.
But hey this book is worth the fangirling.
While I love to read New Adult books like Cora writes, my passion when it comes to books has always been the paranormal romance, but I only typically find the ones that I like are in YA. And this book brought both of my loves together. I got the romance and intensity that draws me into a good New Adult book while getting the type of paranormal story that I usually search out. Plus its Greek mythology so that in its self is a huge plus. I love stories based on the mythology and have read some pretty good ones in the past. But this one was so different, and I loved that. I haven't heard a novel about muses yet,and I thought it was a brilliant idea. Cora did a beautiful job of tightroping the line between inspiring beauty and art and inspiring madness and chaos. That there are two sides to everything, and too much of something can actually be bad.
Kalli is not your typical 21 year old college student. She is a muse who inspires the young artist at her school. Never able to stay with one person for too long, she has never experienced true and utterly full love. Enter Wilder. The clean cut business student just trying to support his family after tragedy strikes. He is the farthest thing from what Kalli is use to and something about him draws her in. The chemistry between the two is great. They challenge each other, and the raw emotion between them is truly stunning. After all the two go through they never give up, especially Wilder. With as much going against him as there is, he never gives up on his family or Kalli. Even after she keeps pushing him away and running. I loved that passion, it is something that draws me into books like this. And I don't know if its the fact that I'm single and pretty much dying to meet someone like this and all those book boyfriends I love so much (Yes I am single, and I'm not afraid to admit it lol, and yes I still have hope my sexy and sweet prince charming will find me one day)

Ok so time for one of my favorite parts of reviewing. My gush session on the H.O.T guy from the book. Today we will be talking about Wilder Bell. The sexy blond with a heart of gold. He cares a lot for his family, and helps to support them after they undergo tragedy even if it means giving up his wild past. Now it's all suits and business school so he can earn money to help out. But when Kalli enters his life, his look on things change. He can't get her out of his head, even when she keeps pushing him away. She is different from anyone Wilder has met, but there are secrets she's keeping from him, and no matter how hard he tries they may just keep them apart.
I don't want to give anything away from the novel, but there is this thing about him that makes him so super sexy (Even more than he already is) but I don't want to say it. So just read the book and I'm sure you will know exactly what I am talking about. Also Wilder has tattoos! and a lot of them. Which hello! that is just one more thing to add to the sexy (I think I may be obsessed lol) But Wilder does have a bit of a dark side, not in the bad way but in the weight of the world on his shoulders way. He feels responsible for his family, and has given up the way he use to live his life to go to school, get a job, and put his passion on a permanent hold. But enter Kalli and he may just decide to change things once again. There is another thing about Wilder that I find so sweet and cute. And that is his passion for his little sister. I love the scenes where they are together. And it could just be that girly instinct in me that gets all melty around guys that are adorable with little kids or kids of their own. He is incredibly sweet with her, and even when she becomes a bit bratty or unruly he still just rolls with it. To me all of Wilder's relationships add a good amount of depth to him. You get to see many sides to this amazing guy, and some will come as a huge surprise.

I loved this book so so much. And don't get me wrong I wanted to strangle Kalli at a few points. But I think that's just one of many things that makes it good. You get to see the struggle the characters go though and you just keep pushing and pushing wanting things to be good for everyone. And for Wilder and Kalli to open up about all their secrets and just be happy. Plus there are so many twists and turns this book makes. Some will leave you jumping up and down happy, others about to reach into the pages and full out smack some characters around.
But my one warning for you. Be prepared. The end of this book is freaking insane. I found myself reading the last sentence and just staring at the page for so long. I couldn't believe what had happened, and that I was going to have to wait all the way till sometime in 2015 to find out what will happen next. While the ending did make me mad (not in a bad way but in an oh sweet baby Jesus and mother Mary kinda way) I really was happy about the way it ended. A good story is supposed to leave you breathless and wanting, no needing more. And Inspire does just that.

I can not wait to see what Cora has in store for us and am truly thankful for being a part of this tour, and getting a chance to read Inspire early.
Happy Book Birthday Cora!

Inspire Teaser 3Excerpt: I can feel Wilder’s breath against my lips. More than that, I can see it. The sun has set and the temperature has dropped, and air fogs between us. There’s something about actually seeing it, like our lips are touching, we are touching, despite the distance between. And as we sway from side to side, my heart gradually begins to pick up speed. The strains of guitar music flowing out from the restaurant are nearly indecipherable over the heavy heartbeat in my ears. But Wilder must hear it. His hands are strong on my body, guiding my movements, and I’m practically clay in his palms. We dance, eyes on eyes, lips nearly on lips, and there is lightning beneath my skin each time his body brushes against mine in a new way. His touch is firm, but gentle, never pushing or pressuring, though I can tell from the dark look in his eyes that he’s just as affected as I am. The music shifts, building to a crescendo, and he spins us. My chest pushes tight against his, and I bite back a gasp. I don’t know if it’s the cold or him or some combination of both, but the tips of my breasts are painfully tight. Just the pressure of my bra is enough to rub them raw. I remember the night at his apartment, the way he’d taken his time learning my body. I think of the heat of his mouth on my skin, and the memory alone is enough to make me shiver and clench. He’s back to being business, grown-up Wilder tonight in his button down and glasses. Only now that I know him, it doesn’t seem like such a stark difference. He is neither the straight-laced man nor the tattooed bad boy. Or perhaps he’s both. Regardless of what he’s wearing, Wilder is caring and loyal and strong and so sexy that I’m having trouble remembering why I shouldn’t push him into the backseat of his SUV and crawl on top of him.

And don’t forget to read the first books in the Pushing the Limits Series…

Excerpt:
From Noah’s POV
“Did you fall into some paint, Echo?” Isaiah asks, changing the subject.
Echo’s shoulder slumps as she pivots toward the mirror. She groans as she touches her cheek and forehead that are more red and pink than skin. “Dang it. Why am I such a mess?”
“I think it’s sexy as hell,” I say.
“I think I’m going to barf,” Beth mocks my tone.
Death radiates from the look I send her way. Enough that it should melt her. “Ever sleep in a tent, Beth?”
Beth focuses on the screen while raising her middle finger in my direction.
“Screw it.” Echo turns away from the mirror. “I need a shower.”
I smile, Echo blushes, then I laugh. Damn me for inviting Isaiah and Beth to share our room.
“Anyhow.” An excited glint strikes Echo’s eyes. “Are you ready? I hope you like it. It’s sort of…for you. But it’s not done, okay? I mean, something like this would actually take a while to perfect, so I guess I’m saying—”
“Echo.”
“Yeah?”
“It’s all good.”
“Okay.” Her fingers drum nervously over the top of the canvas before she repeats, “Okay.”
“I’m assuming that’s not the constellation Aires?”
“No. I’ll have to start on that tomorrow.” With a deep inhale, Echo pulls out a chair from the table and rests the painting on the arms and leans it against the back so it will stay upright.
Air rushes out of my body, and I sink onto our bed. It’s the same damned shock as when she drew my parents this past spring. There’s awe and joy and this ache that hits deep in my gut. I bend forward and rest my joint hands on my knees and stare at the sight in front of me.
Fuck me, my eyes burn. I shut them, attempting to get my shit together. It’s a painting. Only a painting. I reopen them, and it’s the same disorientation as a right hook to the head. It’s more than a painting, and that’s the reason my throat swells.
Last night meant as much to me as it did to her and she painted it, capturing it in a way unique to Echo. She’s right, it’s not done. It’s a skeleton compared to her other work, but I see enough to know what she desires, what she plans to design. Up close all those colors would look like chaos, but when viewed as a whole it creates this beautiful picture. In the end, that’s the best way to describe me and Echo, our relationship. Our love.
The bed dips as Echo eases onto it, settles behind me and props her chin on my shoulder. Her signature scent that reminds me of walking into a bakery becomes an invisible blanket surrounding me. “What do you think?”
“It’s us,” I whisper, and knots form in my stomach. Echo always finds a way to blow my mind. She tenses behind me and I continue, “It’s where we spent last night.”
“It is.” Echo relaxes, and her fingers curl around my biceps. “Do you like it?”
Struggling for composure, I place my hand over hers and pause. “It’s…”
I’m not Echo. I don’t have words for what happens inside me. If I did, I’d fail at describing this. I shift to rest my forehead against hers. “I don’t deserve you.”
“That’s my statement,” she says so only I can hear. “I wish we were alone again.”

I press my lips to hers, slide my hand through her hair and watch as the curls bounce back into place. “Me, too.”

  Wicked

Amazon ** Barnes and Noble ** iBooks ** Kobo

Synopsis:
Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans. Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart. Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her. But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

A picture of a fresh cupcak placed on a sensual female butt

Excerpt:
It was him. Green Eyes. Ren. That was his name. Now I remembered. I started to step forward, but he beat me to it. Moving as quickly as a damn snake striking, he caught my wrists. He didn’t yank my arms to my sides. All he did was hold my fists away from his face.
A lopsided grin appeared on those full lips. “Can’t say I’m entirely surprised you took a swing at me.”
“Then I guess this won’t surprise you either.” Leaning back, I shifted my weight onto my left leg, but again, Ren outmaneuvered me with a quickness that was sort of embarrassing.
He stepped into what would’ve been a fantastic kick and forced me back against the wall. Then there was nowhere to go, no space whatsoever. My back was against the building, and the entire length of his hard body was pressed against mine.
Son of a bitch.
As if he could read my mind, that grin spread and the dimples played peekaboo. “Now I think we can have a conversation without me ending up bloody.”
I blew out an aggravated breath. “I wouldn’t bet on that not happening.”
He chuckled, and the sound rumbled through me. I couldn’t even remember being this close to a guy since . . . since Shaun. “Look, I’m sorry for snatching you off the street like a kidnapper, but you were about to make yet another huge mistake.”
His apology was lost on me. “Make another mistake?”
“Yeah, like the one last night that ended with you getting shot.” He dipped his chin, and the yellow glow of the light attached to the wall above us glanced off his broad cheekbones. “I know what you were about to do.”
“I didn’t make a mistake last night. I was doing my job,” I spat. “And I doubt your job includes grabbing chicks off the street.”
“That would be a hell of a lot more entertaining, but the moment you thought you could engage that fae last night, you made a mistake. And you were about to do it again, you little ass.”
“Little ass?” I sputtered. “You grabbed me off the street like a serial killer!”
“And I’ve apologized for that even though you should be thanking me. I just saved your life, sweetness.”
Floored, all I could do was stare at him for a moment. “You’re insane.”
“I’m a lot of things, but today I’m your fucking saving grace.”

Blog Tour: Fragile Reign By: Stacey O'Neale

Hey ya'll I cannot explain how excited I am to be apart of this tour. I was introduced to Stacey O'Neale and her Mortal Enchantment series when Mortal Enchantment had its blog tour a few months back. I fell in love with the series and the characters and couldn't wait till this one was out. Sadly I have not had the chance to read it yet. I've been out of town for Thanksgiving but was informed that book did arrive at my house, so as soon as I get back and deal with finals from my college classes you can bet that book will be read and a review will be posted. If you haven't had the opportunity to start the series yet I highly suggest you do. It is fast paced and incredible. The thing I love most? It is a really cool way of looking at a topic that other books have tackled. I loved O'Neale's twist and turns and how she created such a beautiful world.
And as a treat for ya'll, I had the privilege of getting to do an interview with Stacey herself, so scroll down to see that. Along with a great giveaway :)
Hope ya'll enjoy

FRAGILE REIGN (Mortal Enchantment #2)

It’s been a week since all hell broke loose…

Rumors of King Taron’s weakened powers have left the air court vulnerable. Kalin is desperate to awaken her akasha powers, except she doesn’t know how. Tension within the court is at an all-time high. Pressure is mounting for her to ascend to the throne, but a halfling has never ruled over any court. To solidify her position, the council has advised her to marry Sebastian—a high ranking air elemental she’s never met and her betrothed.

Will Kalin sacrifice her relationship with Rowan to strengthen her court?

Rowan and Marcus return to a fire court in turmoil. Liana’s death has fueled the fire elementals’ distrust against the air and woodland courts. The unbalanced elements have set off natural disasters all over the mortal world. Rowan takes the throne to restore balance, promising to unite the fire court. But not all elementals are happy with his leadership. Many are secretly loyal to Valac, which means Rowan needs to find allies for his cause.

Can Rowan unify the court of fire before the elements destroy the world?

Interview With Stacey:

  • What was the process like getting your book to become a reality? Getting an agent, signing with a publisher if you have one, etc…

It's different for everyone. I had a publisher offer a contract for my series, but I decided to turn them down. For me, self publishing made more sense because I wanted to do it myself. Since I spent so many years as a book publicist, I've gotten to know many talented editors, cover artists, etc. I wanted to work with people I knew and trusted.

  • Out of all your characters who were your favorite to write? Who was also the hardest to write?

Rowan has been my favorite character. He's so multi-faceted. He's always surprising me. Kalin was tough to write because of her sharp character arc in MORTAL ENCHANTMENT. You see her go from a naïve teenager into a strong woman in a very short period of time.

  • Do you have an author that you completely fan girl over? I know I freak out over anything Wendy Higgins and Jennifer Armentrout.

Well, I was Jennifer's publicist at Entangled, so I do fangirl over her. I'd say my two favorite authors are Gena Showalter and Holly Black. I'll read anything they write.

  • What was one of your favorite scenes to write in Fragile Reign?

Chapter Seventeen. It's a scene readers have been asking for. I think Rowan fans will be pleased. ;-)

  • Who is your favorite book boyfriend? I have a serious crush on McKale from Wendy Higgins See Me (Told you I was obsessed lol) But that also is in part because I love the whole Irish thing. It is so H.O.T!!

Will from Cassie Clare's Infernal Devices. He's so dark and twisty. I do love my broken birds. Plus, those eyes. *swoon*

  • Where did the inspiration to write the Mortal Enchantment Series come from?

I was researching faeries when I kept coming across the word elemental. I googled the name and happened to stumble upon the sixteenth century works of an alchemist named Paracelsus. He identified the four types of elementals, even giving them names. My brain started spinning with ideas, and eventually, the characters came to life.

  • Is there anything new that you’re working on right now? And would you be willing to share anything about it, or from it?

I'm writing an adult science fiction romance featuring sexy aliens. Think, an adult version of Roswell from the 90's. It's really a lot of fun to bounce between adult and YA.

  • When you’re writing a book do you type it up? Or go old school and write it with pen and paper then transfer to digital?

I have a laptop I use only for writing. It keeps me off the internet. ;-p

  • Jaws? Or Jurassic Park?

Neither. I hate scary movies. Big weenie, right here. *points to self*

  • Ok last question. Is there anything that looking back on you would want to change from Fragile Reign or the series in general?

Nope. I'm proud of the series. I wouldn't want to change anything.

Thanks for the great questions, Kayla! <3

Excerpt:
After Marcus left, the lack of sleep and overuse of my power had finally caught up to me. My lids were heavy, making it hard to keep my eyes open. I laid down on the nearest bed, sinking into the softness of the vanilla scented pillows. I could rest here until tomorrow, and then meet Kalin on the beach at sundown. As I closed my eyes, I imagined her in that sexy sundress with the ocean breeze wafting through her red curls. My lips tingled remembering the raspberry taste of her kisses. With all this craziness going on, she was the one thing that made sense. The only person who could make me forget about everything for a little while.
Kalin was the one I wanted. The only one I needed. I shook my head. What was wrong with me? It was too soon to be thinking about this stuff, right? It had only been a few weeks. And what did I know about real feelings, anyway? Had it not been for Marcus, I would never even know what it felt like to care for someone. Love was never part of my life. My mother thought love was a weakness—a totally worthless emotion compared to power and control.
But that still didn’t explain how I was feeling. Why everything seemed better when Kalin was around. Why my fingers ached to touch her. Why her pain shattered me to the core. I put my hands over my face. Or, maybe the lack of sleep was making me delusional. With a smirk, I gave in to the darkness that was overwhelming me and fell asleep.

Other Books In the Mortal Enchantment Series:

THE SHADOW PRINCE (Mortal Enchantment #0.5)

Katee Robert, New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

Sixteen-year-old Rowan has spent most of his life living among the mortals—learning to control the element of fire, impatiently awaiting the day his vengeful mother, Queen Prisma, will abdicate her throne. When he finally returns to Avalon for his coronation, his mother insists he must first prove his loyalty to the court by completing a secret mission:

Kill Kalin, the half-human, half-elemental daughter of the air court king.

Willing to do anything to remove his mother from power, he agrees to sacrifice the halfling. He returns to the mortal world with his best friend, Marcus, determined to kill the princess. But as he devises a plan, he starts to question whether or not he's capable of completing such a heinous task. And what price he will pay if he refuses?

MORTAL ENCHANTMENT

“Mortal Enchantment spins a unique twist on elemental mythology. This series is not to be missed.”
Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author

In Kalin Matthew's world, elementals control the forces of nature. They are divided into four courts: air, woodland, fire, and water. At sixteen she will leave the life she's built with her mortal mother. Kalin will move to Avalon to rule with her father—the elemental king of the air court. Along the way, she's attacked by a fire court assassin and saved by Rowan, a swoon-worthy elemental with a questionable past.

Worst of all, she learns her father is missing.

To rescue him, Kalin will have to work with a judgmental council and a system of courts too busy accusing each other of deceit to actually be able to help her. But, they aren’t her biggest challenge. With the Midwinter’s Ball only five days away, Kalin must take over her father’s duties, which includes shifting control of the elements—power Kalin has yet to realize.

As Rowan attempts to train her, a war looms between the four courts. If Kalin fails, her father will die and the courts will fall, but the betrayal she’s about to uncover may cost her even more...

Fragile Reign by Stacey O'Neale

Excerpt from FRAGILE REIGN

Rowan

Excerpt:
By the time we were halfway through reviewing the second chapter, I was fully engrossed by the disparity between the two sides of my body and had completely and utterly lost focus on Organic Chemistry. All of my focus was on the parts of my body that pressed against Colin. I only hoped Colin wouldn’t notice.
            “You alright, Ash?”
            And, of course, he did.
            “Huh?” was my brilliant answer.
“Are you okay? You’re kind of out of it.”
I needed an excuse. I didn’t think, "Oh, I was just daydreaming about having your body pressed against mine," would cut it.
“Oh, um, I’m sorry.” I shook my head, trying to dispel the fog. “I was just trying to figure out where I was going to sleep tonight. Becca went home, and I didn’t think to borrow her key.”
            Awesome save, Ashley.
“Rookie mistake,” he joked and nudged his shoulder into mine, pushing his body harder against my side. “I forget that this is your first semester here. It’s strange. I feel like I’ve known you so much longer than just a couple of months.”
Then, he turned his face to mine—it was just a couple of inches away—and smiled warmly. I looked into his eyes, and the heat that had been just in my right side spread through the rest of my body.
Colin’s expression suddenly changed, and he looked away.
“You could, you know, sleep in here.” He shrugged.
He looked so nervous that I actually smiled.
“I’d sleep in Brett’s bed, of course.” He looked up at me and continued, more confident now. “I won’t try anything funny.”
I don’t know how it slipped out, but all of a sudden, I heard myself reply in a husky, flirtatious voice, “It’s not the funny stuff that I’m worried about.” Then, I felt the corners of my mouth tip up.
I had no idea where it came from. As soon as the words came out, I knew I shouldn’t have opened my mouth, and now that they were out there, I couldn’t take them back.
Suddenly, the entire atmosphere of the room changed. The air was thicker somehow, and I was even more aware of Colin next to me, as if that were possible.
Our eyes locked, and he leaned toward me, closing the inches of space between us.
I knew he was going to kiss me. I also knew I wasn’t going to stop him.
I closed my eyes and tilted my head back, knowing this may be a bad idea and that it may change things—and not in a good way—but also knowing that right then, at that second, and in that moment, I couldn’t stop it.

And as I waited for Colin’s lips to touch mine, I realized that there wasn’t anything either of us could do to stop it. There wasn’t anything anyone could do to stop it.
